I clenched my fists as I walked up the stairs to the building. I had made it just in time, barley being able to drop Cecilia off and drive like a mad man here. I pushed open the grand front doors. There was a big lobby that had a reception desk in the middle.

"Appointment for Dr. Cooper," I told the lady.

She glanced up at me and filed through some paperwork.

"Evans?" She asked finally.

"Yes ma'am," I said politely.

"ID please,"

I fumbled through my purse until I found my drivers license and handed it to her. She looked at it for a moment before handing it back.

"Office 13 on the second floor," she said, gesturing to the elevator.

"Thank you!" I told her and went off.

The elevator ride seamed to last hours, when it was only a couple of seconds.

I was so nervous. What if this is all just some kind of weird plan my parents made to find out all about what's really going on with me? Even though I told them everything, what if they still don't believe me?

I knocked on the door lightly and heard a "come in," from inside. I pushed the door open.

There was a woman who looked to be in her 30s sitting behind a desk. She had a blonde hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a pencil skirt with a blazer.

"Hello, my name is Rosemary," I put my hand out to shake.

"Ah yes, I've been waiting for you Rosemary," she shook my hand. "I am Doctor Jane Cooper, but you can just call me Dr. Cooper."

"Very nice to meet you," I smiled.

"Shall we sit?" She asked gesturing to a pair of comfy chairs in the corner of her office.

I nodded and sat in one, letting the plush swallow me.

"I'm just going to get the rules out before we begin. What we discuss here is entirely confidential, unless you are talking about hurting others or yourself. In that case I would have to tell you parents or the police," she explained. She was very stern and business driven, which made talking to her intimating.

I nodded to show that I understood.

"Great. Now let's start with how you are feeling right now," she said.

"Well I'm kinda nervous," I told her fumbling with my hands.

"About what? Elaborate."

"This. I've never had a therapist before,"

"Ah yes, the first time can be nerve-racking, but it is my job to make sure you feel safe and welcome," she smiled at me. Maybe this won't be so bad. "Why don't you tell me what has been going on in your life recently."

The next hour was a blur. I just talked and talked about Shawn and Jeffery and even Cecilia popped up. Dr. Cooper made it really easy to let it all out, and understood how I was feeling. When the clock struck 8, I was taken aback at how fast the hour went past.

"See you next week Dr. Cooper," I waved as I walked out of her office.

"You too Rosemary," she smiled and waved back.

As I walked back to my car I couldn't help but feel relieved. That went way better than I expected

"How was your session, sweetie?" My mom asked.

"Good! Really good," I smiled. They had brought me home left overs from the dinner party and I ate on the couch as I talked to mom and dad. They told me about the party. It was a nice little family bonding moment, and I was glad I was here, where I was safe, instead of at Jeffery's, where I would be right now if we weren't in legal trouble with him.
