Chapter 15

Chapter 15.

She was horrible, simply horrible. It was the same thought that traveled in their minds as they stood in the all white, sterile room in silence. Hissing of an oxygen and a slow beeping of a heat monitor filled the room with noise.

Ibiki, Tsunade, Kakashi, Sakura and Itachi stood at the foot of the hospital bed that held Naru. Her skin was deathly pale, around her eyes were purple, her breathing as short and raspy and she got worst each second.

"She doesn't look good..." Sakura whispered biting her lip. Itachi balled his fists up tighter and tighter as he stared at Naru.

"Its been nearly a week.. is there any plans?" Kakashi asked.

"Can we go now?!" Itachi snipped, Ibiki looked at the young Uchiha and sighed.

"I'm not letting you go to him."

"What?!" Itachi barked glaring at the man.

"My division will work, we will break him."

"You've been at it for days! Just let me-"

"No." Ibiki said with a glare, Itachi growled in anger and stormed out of the room slamming the door.

"He's really upset."

"He loves her..." Tsunade muttered, Kakashi looked at Naru then at the door and sighed as he slipped out of the room quietly.

He tracked Itachi up to the hospital roof and found the man leaning against the railing staring out over the village. Kakashi cleared his throat as he stood behind Itachi, he glanced back and sighed.

"What do you want?" He asked, Kakashi huffed.

"Answer me this .. what is Naru to you, exactly?

"Why?" Itachi asked turning to him

"I care for Naru and I don't want anything happening to her, I made a promise-"

"Don't want anything happening to her!?" Itachi asked.

"Yes..." Kakashi said hesitantly.

"If you didn't want her hurt, where were you before? Why didn't you help her in the past!?"

"What are you talking about?"

"The reason Naru can't let anyone in! The reason she doesn't know love and is too scared to love. The reason she moved out of her apartment, why she joined the T&I department!" He barked. "You don't even know do you?" He spat.

"Obviously not!" Kakashi snapped back.

"She was raped when she was 8! by multiple men! Her neighbor tried to impregnate her at 8 and has tried over and over again until she moved out!" He barked, Kakashi froze and his face paled. "She can't have a normal life or let anyone in far enough because she wasn't protected like so many say they are!" He yelled.

"Itachi, I didn't know about that." Kakashi said. "If I did, you know I would of taken care of them. I'll do it now!"

"Naru already took care of it. Like she has always done." He said. "So your promise means nothing!"

Kakashi snarled and shot forward grabbing the Uchiha by his collar slamming him into the wall. "Listen here you brat! I get you're upset about what Sasuke has done to Naru! I get it! But I'm trying to help you. I didn't know about Naru's past because I was forbidden to go anywhere near or interfere in her life by the council! It took everything and everyone for me to simply become her sensei! And even then I wasn't allowed to act!" He barked. "I know I can't keep my promises, no matter what I do they don't work!" He barked releasing Itachi's shirt. "I swear I will help Naru now, no matter what. So tell me you actually care about her!" Itachi gulped looking at the jounin and sighed.
