"Great work, Lee!"

"Oh, my poor daughter! You're lucky Mr. Lee was there!"

"Well, Mr. Lee, that was quite brave of you."

Charles grinned proudly as Y/N's parents and butler sang his praises. They weren't the only ones grateful, though. Y/N was by his side, smiling softly. She looked up at Charles. "Yes, thank you very much, Mr. Lee. Had it not been for you, I would've been a goner."

Charles shook his head. "I was only doing my job, Miss." Y/N smiled and hugged him. "You saved my life, that's what you did." Charles stiffened up by her embrace but her parents smiled and nodded him on. He hugged her and smiled.

Suddenly, Sebastian interrupted the moment. "Ahem." All eyes were on him. "Miss Y/N, this was left for you." Sebastian clapped his gloved hands and in walked two maids with four gift boxes.

Y/N's eyes lit up. "Who sent them?" Sebastian took a list out from his coat pocket but was cut off before he could say a thing. "Save it, Sebastian." F/N looked at the gifts and sighed. "Just put them over there, ladies." He pointed his chin over to the other side of the drawing room where a wall of gift boxes stood.

Charles raised an eyebrow. "How did I not notice that?"

Y/N pouted and looked at her parents. "May I go into the city?" They nodded but her mother put a hand on her hip. "Whatever for, darling?" The young heiress shrugged. "I don't like being all cooped up." Her parents sighed and nodded. "Alright", they smiled tiredly.

Y/N smiled and hugged them. "Thank you! I'll be back before you know it." Charles followed her until she reached her room. He waited for a while until she stepped out in a new dress.

"You look nice", said Charles gruffly as he stood

"You look nice", said Charles gruffly as he stood. "Shall we go now?" He raised an eyebrow and she nodded with a smile. "We shall."

Y/N looked out the carriage window and saw the merchants and the college students. "Where do you want to go?" Charles asked her as she looked at the busy streets. "Anywhere", she replied wistfully. "I'm looking for someone." She looked at him.

"For who? I'm sure I can help you find this person." Charles fixed the buttons on his cuffs and glanced out the window. Y/N shrugged. "I don't know him yet. You see, I'm looking for a suitor."

Before Charles' consciousness could hold him back, he let out a hearty laugh. "Miss Y/N, it's none of my business, but do you actually want to find a suitor here?" Y/N rolled her large, E/C eyes. "I do, actually."

Charles crossed his arms across his chest. "You're a woman of status. Plus, I'm sure you have a number of wealthy, well-off suito-"

"But I don't want any of them." Y/N cut him off. She sighed and rested her head on her hand. "I tire of those lavish gifts. I want someone with an actual heart and mind. Someone with..." She racked her brain for the word she looked for. "Personality."

"I'm sure there's someone for me that doesn't have a stick up his arse or some hoity-toity big wig." Y/N sighed again. "Plus, some of these students are rather handsome. I'd like that. Smart, morally conscious, and handsome." She smiled and giggled.

Charles shook his head. "My father would always try to marry me up in status. He'd take me to balls and send gifts to ladies that I didn't even know on my behalf." He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "But it's something you have to think long and hard about. This is your life partner."
