Chapter 9

~Jessica~

I walk to my moms car and my step father pushes me in, once I have my seatbelt on he slams the car door hard. I look out the window and see Joshua's face, he looked hurt and mad at the same time. I looked away, once I do a tear escapes my eye.

My mother get into the passenger seat and looks back at me, she whispers something that I couldn't hear.

"I want you to know that you are no longer allowed to leave the house." She spat.

"Don't tell me what the hell I can and cannot do!" I said with hate in my voice.

Before my mom can reply my step father gets into the car. He looks back at me and smiles.

"We have missed you Jessica!" He says with a smirk.

"Sure" Is all I say.

We pull into my moms work to drop her off. She looks at me and gives me a weird look.

"Our conversation isn't over!" She says through gritted teeth.

We pull into our drive way and he turns around and looks at me with a smirk.

"Oh how I've missed you!" He says in a whisper.

What the hell is he going to do to me???

We get into the house and I run to my room. Once I get in my room I lock it, I walk over to my bathroom and strip down. Turning on the hot water and putting my hair into a bun.

I slip into the hot water and slip away into darkness.

I wake up still in the bathtub, I get out and wrap a towel around me. I brush my teeth and make my way towards my room to put on pajamas.

As I finish getting dressed I hear glass breaking down stairs. I open my door and make my way to the kitchen. My jaw drops when I stand in the entry way to the kitchen.

My step father drunk and high walking over to me. I gasp and start to back up, he grabs my shoulders and pins me up against the wall. He is leaving a little trail kisses on my neck.

I scream and push him off of me, but he wouldn't move. I was running out of choices so I lifted my right leg and kneed him. He fell to the floor with a grunt. I ran to the front door and opened it.

As I step outside the cold air hits my face. I look back to see him struggling to get up, I knew where I had to go, to the only place where I feel safe.

Joshua's house.

I ran until his house came into sight. When I reached the porch, I started banging like my life depended on it. He answered the door with a tired look on his face, but when he looked info my eyes it turned into shocked.

"O-OMG!, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE??, ARE YOU OKAY?" He says almost yelling.

"My step father tried to rape me Joshua!" I whisper falling to my knees crying.

I see him tense up and his jaw clenching a mad expression on his face.

He falls to the ground with me, holding me in his arms.

"Shhhhhh, its going to be okay!" He whispers.

"I hope so" Is all I can say.

He picks me up and carries me into the house and starts making his way to the guest bedroom. He lays me down and sighs.

"I'm not going to let him hurt you again" he says in a firm tone.

I stay frozen by his choice of words.

He left my room and closed the door behind him before I could reply.

I was trying to sleep but his words kept haunting my mind.

I'm not going to let him hurt you again.

That's all I could think about before drifting into sleep.
