chapter 14

~Joshua~

I am sitting in my classroom grading paper's, Jessica missed today to be with Charlotte. I hope they are enjoying my cabin, I am so tempted to call Jessica to ask if they need anything. I reach over to grab my phone but I don't pick it up.

Just as I pull my hand away my phone ring's. I pick it up and look at the screen, it says Charlotte in bold letters. Why was she calling?, is everything OK? I thought to myself before answering.

"Hel-" before I could finish she cut me off.

"JOSHUA!!!!, MEET ME AT THE GREYSTONE HOSPITAL NOW!!!!" Charlotte yelled.

"WHY, IS EVERYTHING OKAY.......IS JESSICA OKAY?" I yell.

"No, she's not okay" Charlotte whispers while crying.

"Okay I'm on my way" I say before ending the call.

I grab my coat off the back of the chair before running to get to my car. I speed out of the parking lot and down the road. My thought's were everywhere, I didn't know what was going on.

This whole time I kept asking myself 'do I have feelings for Jessica' and the answer is yes, but its wrong. She is the student and I'm the teacher, but my heart hurts knowing that something happened to Jessica.

I get to the hospital and I park my car in the shitty parking lot, I run into the hospital and up to the front desk.

"Jessica Chapman" I say holding back the tears.

"Room 14, through those doors" she says with an eye roll.

I rush to room 14 and see Charlotte crying outside the door she is against the wall with her head in her hands and rocking back and forth. I run up to her and grip her shoulders.

"I'm a bad friend" she cried in my shoulder.

"What happened?" I say moving her back.

"Andrew found Jessica and he broke in while we were sleeping-" she said before crying again.

"Charlotte please" I beg her to keep going.

"We didn't know who it was so we hid in the closet, we were climbing out the window to leave but, he broke down the door before she got out. Andrew stabbed her leg and she lost a lot of blood" she finishes while crying.

I . AM . PISSED

I turn to open the door but Charlotte stopped me.

"she's sleeping" she whispers with a small smile.

Before I could answer a police officer calls Charlotte's name.

"Charlotte Bowman" he called out.

"Yes?" She asked.

"I'm officer Davis, I would like to ask you some questions?" Officer Davis said plainly.

"Sure" was all she said.

I zoned out through their whole conversation.

"And your side Mr. Walker?" He asks me .

"Charlotte called me and told me to meet her at the hospital because Jessica got hurt" I said quickly.

He walked down the hall with Charlotte to get food. I was going to go find the bathroom before I heard someone scream from room 14.

Jessica's awake

I run into the room and zone out when I see her, my world just stops. I walk up to her and pull her into a hug.

I grab her face to look at it.

"Oh my god Jessica" I whisper.

"Where's Charlotte" she asks while looking around.

"She left to get food" I say while still looking at her.

I was breathing fast but slowed it down, she was about to say something but I just couldn't hold it in anymore.

I kissed her, I felt my heart race when we parted.

Two seconds later Charlotte bursts through the door.

"OH MY GOD JESSICA YOU'RE AWAKE!" she yelled.

She hugged Jessica and then looked to the floor.

"The doctors are letting you go home but-" she said with a upset tone.

"Speak up Charlotte" Jessica says while laughing.

"Your mom and Andrew are here to sign you out" Charlotte says with a frown.

"And she says you are going home with them" she said with a sympathetic smile.

"The hell she's not" I yell out.

I feel all my anger build up inside me.

"Calm down Joshua" Jessica says with a frown.

"Jessica I don't want anything to happen to you" I whisper.

"Well then, I'll wait in the hallway while you two talk" Charlotte says while walking out the door.

After she shut the door I looked towards Jessica, and then down to my hands.

I just have to let it out.

"Jessica I think I have feelings for you" I say while tugging at my hair.

The look on her face said it all, she was confused.

(A/N) I felt like the kiss didn't make sense without Joshua's POV. Do you understand??.
