Chapter 34

Hayden

"Scott, hey, uh what are you doing here?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I missed my two girls." He said and gave me a hug.

This was just added a space to the chili. Scott would be a distraction. "Yeah, Elena isn't here, she doesn't live here actually." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Where is she then?" He asked.

"She lives with um, er uh her boyfriend." I blurted out.

"She has a boyfriend?" He asked.

"Yeah, they have been together for a few months, and actually she um, she… yeah I got nothing she just isn't here." I said and let him in.

"Is Elena okay though?" He asked, why the hell are all his questions worrying about Elena, what the fuck am I? Dog shit?

"Yes she is fine, Scott what are you doing here? Give me the real answer this time." He sighed.

"I heard from Johnny and he said Elena was in trouble."

You see, Johnny and Scott. were really close when Johnny and Alone were together. They both seemed to have a sick obsession with her, but that is just my opinion. Even when Scott found out that Johnny got Elena pregnant he was cool with it. 

Scott is our best friend and if he really cared he would have beat the living shit out of Johnny not give him a pat on the back.

"Hayden?" A voice spoke, a different voice from mine and Scott's.

I looked back and saw Zayn there looking confused. "Hey, um this is Scott mine and Elena's best friend." I said and he nodded.

"Why are you home, I thought you were going out for a couple of hours, it has barely been one." I said.

"Damon called and said that Harry wanted me to comeback, apparently something is going on and he doesn't want you out of my sight." He explained.

From the corner of my eye I could see Scott tense. "Harry?" He asked and Zayn and I looked at him.

"Yes Harry, you know him?" Zayn asked.

"I have heard Johnny talk about him before." He said and I mentally face palmed.

"You know Johnny? What the hell are you doing here?" Zayn nearly yelled. He then looked at me. "He can't stay here Hayden." He said. "Why?" I asked. "It's my job to keep you safe and if he is here and he still talks to Johnny then he can attract Johnny here and then what, what if I'm not here Hayden? Who knows what Johnny will do to you!" He yelled.

Besides the fact that I want to slap the shit out Zayn because he yelled at me, I do agree with him. I don't want to kick out Scott, big if it helps I have to do it.

"Scott," I whispered but he shook his head. "I understand, just tell Elena I'm looking for her." He said before leaving.

Once Scott left the house Zayn groaned in frustration. "You know you can't tell Elena about this, right?" He and I looked away. "Hey, look at me."

He lifted my chin up with his finger, my eyes meeting his. "Hayden, she could be in danger if you tell her." I nodded. "Yeah, I know." I whispered.

"Hayden, I know he is one of your best friends but, what Elena, she needs you more and if Scott is still in contact with Johnny we don't know if he is trustworthy." He said.

It was quiet for a moment but only a moment.

"He didn't even flinch." I whispered.

Zayn furrowed is eyebrows in confusion. "What?"

"When Elena got pregnant," I said. "It doesn't make sense, Scott and Johnny were like brothers, you'd think he would go off on him for getting her pregnant but he didn't." I whispered.

"Why are you telling me this?" He asked.

"Because I wasn't going to tell Elena anyways."

Here is the thing, Scott, Elena, and I were like brothers and sisters and then Johnny came along. Scott began to change but, somehow Elena was oblivious towards the whole thing. No matter how many times I tried to hunt it to her she would always turn it down.

Johnny nor Scott could do any wrong in Elena's eyes. I, however, don't trust either one, Scott maybe one of my best friends but, Elena will always come before him.

Elena use to tell me, "He's a boy, all boys go through a stage where they want to be cool and that's all it is." Little did she know, it was much, much more.

  "There is something else." I said to Zayn and he raised his eyebrows. "What is it?" He asked.

"Right away when he got here he asked for Elena, when I asked what he was doing here he said it was because he missed both of us, then when I asked again he said it was because Johnny told him Elena was in danger and every question after that was about Elena, like where she lived and all of that." I explained.

"Your point?" Said asked leaning against the wall next to him.

"He was trying to get information about Elena," I paused.

  "He has spoken to Johnny but, it is a lot more than what he was getting at."

"He is trying to get to Elena so he can take her to Johnny." Zayn said.

"He wants to kill her." I whispered looking at Zayn with wide eyes.
