//One week.
The love of my life,
a boy of sunshine and cute giggles,
had been missing for one week.I swallow down some hard liquor, sparkling in it's glass. The news makes my head spin, as it plays on my TV and fills up the empty space in my flat. I suffocate on the words I see, as I catch sight of beautiful pale blue eyes that light up the screen. It's him. He's today's network star.
"Philip Michael Lester, a famous internet personality known as 'AmazingPhil' was reported missing about five days ago. He's 6'2, a thirty year old white male with dark hair and blue eyes. If you see this man, please contact the authorities at once. A great mourning has been cast in his absence over the internet. His best friend and fiancé, Daniel Howell-"
I mute the TV, not needing to hear another word. They got one thing wrong anyway, he was reported missing five days ago, but he's been gone for seven. I already know what they're going to say on the story too. They're going to talk about my grief, and confusion and make me seem like more of a victim than Phil, and he's the one that's missing. I'm his best friend after all, comrade, partner, boyfriend. Soon to be husband. If that ever happens.
I run my fingers through my messy curls, feeling tears sting my eyes. It's so goddamn empty in this apartment without him. The police say they're doing everything they can, but they haven't found a single thing.
Phil tells me he'll be home soon from buying some cereal, and he never makes it.He never makes it back home to me.
That's the whole story, all I know. Cameras in the store prove he leaves safe. A fan who says she saw him walking home said he was just fine, she even went up to him and snapped a picture. I've seen that photo a million times now, the last one taken of him before he went missing.
I see it again on the television, it's taunting me; showing me his smile and the generosity in his eyes as he hugs the girl he took it with.
But then
I notice
a strange
woman.I furrow my eyebrows for a moment, thinking the alcohol is making me see things. The photo leaves, but the image of a woman in all black behind him, stays fresh in my mind. I scramble for my phone, pulling up the photo of him taken by the fan. I see her, faint and looking like any other person in the background of a photo accept for one thing.
She's wearing a gold mask, and her eyes are trained on Phil as she stays hidden in the shadows. I stare, finding it odd I never noticed her before. She doesn't mean anything, she could just be a pedestrian on their way to some dress up party. But she looks sketchy, and the way she stares at Phil makes me shiver. I turn off my phone, thinking I'm overreacting. I'm trying to put the blame on something, one someone. I'm trying to find clues as to where he went off to.
London was a big city but I never thought I'd lose him to it.
I decide I need a shower, it's been a few days. I need to start accepting the fact that after this long, there's no hope we'll find him. It's not like he's a child(well physically) people aren't going to be that worried about him.
The water runs down my body, and makes my hair look like chocolate swirls. I feel as if it might engulf me in comfort until it turns cold. My whole body has shivered enough lately. Trying to sleep is like...it's like trying to sleep. It's exactly that, I mean, what else do you want me to say?
