Your POV
The four of us were walking to Haru's house. I was gripping the handles of my bag very tight, fearing that he might have done something stupid...
"Hey, you think Haru's okay?" Nagisa asked with sadness in his tone.
"Honestly I don't know..." Makoto replied.
"Of course he's fine. It's Haru, the silent type. Do more, speak less, kinda guy." Rei said, in hopes to brighten up the mood.
"But he hasn't been at school for a while now." I said.
We all sighed.
"Well has he spoken to you, (y/n)." Makoto asked.
"Nope, he hasn't even said a thing to his parents."
Makoto went silent with a look of concern on his face, but he finally spoke up. "Well then that gives me the feeling that we should hurry up and get to his house quick."
This worried me greatly, "What are you thinking?" I questioned.
"I know Haru would never ignore you or his parents, that's not like him at all..."
"You're right. Let's go!"
Now we were running towards his house. As we got there, we noticed his car still parked. It looked slightly dusty meaning he hasn't driven in a while...
"Come on!" Makoto dashed towards the front door. He tried it, "Damn, it's locked!"
This was definitely not a good sign, Haru never locks his door...
"Try the back!" Rei suggested.
"Right." We all ran towards the back and Makoto tried the door again. "Argh! Locked!"
"(Y/n), do you have a spare key?"
"No, he never gave me one."
Rei grunted in frustration, "Come on think..."
"We're just gonna have to break in." Makoto said quickly.
Nagisa and I stepped back as Makoto and Rei kicked and charged at the door. Finally it broke in and we all dashed into the house.
There were no lights on, and it was messy. Beer bottles were thrown on the ground, even some cigarettes and the ash was scattered on the carpet.
"Search the whole house!" Makoto demanded.
Everyone split up and I went into the kitchen noticing a note on the table. It looked relatively new, maybe an hour old.To whoever it may concern....
After the incident I found no value in my life.
I wanted to swim with someone very special to me... Because every time I swam with her,
I felt free... I wanted to spend the rest of my days, in the water... with her. Swimming, and having no worries, just like when we were kids. But now, things aren't the same. Pain killers and stress relievers wouldn't help. So,
I've decided to submit to the water in my final moments... The one thing that makes me truly happy.
-Haruka NanaseA tear ran down my face, please don't tell me you did this Haru...
"GUYS, COME QUICK!" I could hear Nagisa yelling from the hall.
We all met up by the bathroom, and there Haru was. Submerged in the water...
"No... Haru." My voice cracked as I slowly walked up towards the tub. "No!"
"CALL THE AMBULANCE!" Nagisa screamed.
I pulled his head up from the water and cradled him in my arms. "Haru please, p-please." I cried. "D-don't leave m-me." My heart ached."Oh my God, Haru!?" I could hear Mrs. Nanase yelling.
"Sorry mam, we can't let you go past this line." A man with an authoritative voice said.
"But that's my baby, let me through."
"No mam, we can't let anyone through."
"Please! Let me see my son!"
"(Y/n), was it?" I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see a paramedic.
I didn't reply, instead I placed my head back onto my knees.
"Here, take this towel. You don't wanna get sick."
I didn't look up but I could feel the warm fabric being draped around my shoulders.
"Don't worry, we're sure he's going to make it. Stop by the hospital."
There were so many noises, the news people, all of the emergency workers.
"Sir, please tell us what happened." A man who I'm guessing was from the news asked.
"I-I'm sorry, we'd rather not talk about it." Makoto replied for the team.
A knot formed in my stomach. It's all my fault...
About an hour later, all of the noise and the neighbourhood commotion went away.
"We're sure he's going to make it." The paramedic's words replayed through my head. You better be alive Haru.Time skip: the next day
It was about 8 o'clock in the morning. Since the incident, I've been receiving non stop calls and texts from people sending me their condolences.
I stared up at the ceiling with a blank mind and zero information about Haru...
(Your phone's ringtone plays)
I didn't feel like answering or talking to anyone so I let it go to voice mail.
Hello, (y/n). It's Makoto. I think you might wanna come to the hospital to hear this. We need you here, please don't keep yourself away from this. Haru needs you. Please. Talk to you when I see you. Later.
*Beep*No... I couldn't go, I wasn't ready to accept the news. Never, ever. It's all my fault. If I had just listened none of this would've ever happened... I rolled onto my side and cuddled my knees into my chest, I'm sorry Haru.
