The school was well-rounded in its education system, allowing students to get as far as possible at this school. It was part of the reason that Max and Sky were still at the school even though some of the students were unbearably rude and obnoxious.
They walked in to the dance classroom, both having changed already in the bathroom.
“Are you okay?” asks Leigh rushing over to Sky worry evident on her face. Sky just nods and smiles, the two were friends but not extremely close.
They didn’t have that many classes together, making it hard for the two to converse. They hadn’t had homeroom together since the first year of high school. Sky didn't really know Leigh. The main reason she likes Sky so much is how nice and kind she is to everyone.
Mr. Johnson came in,”Okay class, we are focusing on hip-hop today.”
He turned on the music, and everyone follows him, the music chasing away Sky’s uncertainty and confusion.
Jayden pokes his head into the room as the class ended, everyone heading off to the showers or to leave school. They had an intense workout, although Sky was forced to sit out for most of it. Sky was still drenched in sweat though, she got hot really easy now.
Max already left to the empty classroom for detention, the detention would have to be in an empty classroom because, there were no desks in the dance room.
Sky waves at the dark haired boy,”I have to take a shower, I’ll be out really quickly.”
Sky walks into the locker room, as she opens her locker notes come pouring out, they were covered in profanities. She just stared as they poured out of her locker, she could hear the other girls snickering at her.
Sky chokes back tears, she ignores the girls as they laugh at her. She quickly finishes and rushes out of the locker room, not even bothering to clean out her locker, the whispers of "slut" and "whore" echoed in her ears.
Jayden has on a tattered black hoodie, and headphones, he's leaning nonchalantly against the wall waiting for Sky. Jayden notices the tears and quietly brings her to his car. He just lets her cry, knowing that she needed to release her emotions again.
He notices her stroking her stomach and quietly singing to herself, it’s a lullaby. “Are you pregnant?” asks Jayden quietly.
Sky’s eyes widen,”How-“
“I know the signs, don’t you remember my mothers a midwife. She said that she had an appointment with one of the students at my school yesterday,” says Jayden.
“I didn’t know that Ms. Huang had a son that went to this school,” says Sky.
He just nods, “I help with some of the finical stuff when mother can’t deal with it,” says Jayden smiling softly at her.
“I have a pregnancy pillow in the back, I had to pick up the newest shipment for mother, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if you had one,” says Jayden.
“What are they for?” asks Sky.
“You can’t sleep on your stomach or lie straight up anymore, you have to lie on your side now,” says Jayden.
“Thank you, Jayden,” says Sky, ”sorry for my annoying crying.”
He laughs quietly,”It’s okay, you are just a little bit more sensitive now that you’re pregnant.”
Sky just nods,”I heard you are working on composing, can I hear?”
Jayden nods and plugs in his phone, selecting a playlist as they waited at a stoplight. “How do you know where to go?” asks Sky as Jayden easily maneuvers the streets. It is almost as if he’s been here often.
“Mother often delivers in this area, plus Aunt Ayumi and mother are really close,” says Jayden.
“You call her your Aunt?” asks Sky.
“They are almost like sisters,” said Jayden.
Sky just nods, listening to Jayden’s music again. The melody was soft and then suddenly it turned hard and intense. “I really like what you did there,” says Sky.
Jayden smiles, ”Thanks, but these are just rough demos.”
The two ramble on about various types of music and their interests.
He pulls into the house,”Let me carry your bags in, it isn’t good for you to carry so much weight when you’re pregnant. Have Max help when your back starts to hurt."
Jayden turns off the car and helps to carry in her stuff, while Sky carries the pregnancy pillow. Sky opens the sliding door, Jayden drops the bags on the side of the door, ”Do you need anything else?” asks Jayden.
Sky shakes her head,”Thank you for giving me a ride home. Give me a second, let me get something for you.”
Sky came back with some cake,”It’s not much but Max and I made it together. Although Max did most of it, I don’t know if you like sweets, but-“
Jayden takes it and smiles, and nods is appreciation,”I like sweets.”
“Take care,” says Sky.
“You too,” says Jayden,”Oh and tell Max we can meet at 10 AM.” Jayden fumbles through his bag and pulls out a sleek cellphone.
“Let’s exchange numbers, and if its possible could you give mine to Max too?” asks Jayden.
The two exchange numbers, suddenly Max walks in through the back door,”Stay for dinner will you?” calls out Max.
“Is that okay?” asks Jayden.
“Sure,” says Sky,”Don’t you guys want to know each other better, since you are basically going on a date.”
Max blushes and Jayden just keeps his stoic facade. “You don’t even know if he’s gay or bi,” says Max.
“I’m gay,” says Jayden quietly.
Max blushes again,”Oh…”
An awkward silence coats the air, Sky breaks through with a cough,”How about we cook Max?” she says dragging him off.
”Jayden, come talk to us in the kitchen,” yells Sky.
Jayden follows the two into the kitchen,”Sit down” gestures Max.
“Do you need help?”asks Jayden.
Sky just shakes her head,”Just sit down, we’ve got it.”
"Mr. Johnson let me out early because he knows that I am getting detention for unfair reasons," says Max, cutting off Sky before she could even ask.
"Apparently James wasn't in class because Mr. Johnson actually went back to the Dean and told him what he had saw," says Max.
"Wow, I knew him to be cold, but not that cold," said Sky.
Jayden suddenly stood up, "You should be resting if you got punched, that is definitely not good for the baby."
Sky is about to protest but Jayden just steered her to the chair and forced her to sit down. "Rest, I'll cook," says Jayden.
All that Sky can do is pout, besides who would want to ruin the chances of having potential blackmail on your best friend. She chuckled to herself and was secretly taking pictures of the two as they cooked. "So does that mean the two of you are dating?" asks Sky.
Max chokes, and blushes, he halfheartedly glares at Sky. "Yes, we are," says Jayden.
Max covers his face, and Jayden moves his hands and leans in to kiss him,"Don't be embarrassed." As the two boys kiss, Sky smiles happily. She is glad that her friend is finally able to find happiness.
The two finish cooking dinner, the three of them plus Natasha and Kasumi later on, have a pleasant dinner getting to catch up and getting to know each other better.
