She suddenly felt the urge to pee, she motions to the nearby bathroom and Max nods. As Sky walks in she is suddenly assaulted by senior girls. "So it looks like James' little bitch decided to appear," says one of the girls.
"We were in line to fuck, but when Leigh found out you were pregnant, their relationship was no longer so open," says another.
"Please excuse me I need to use the bathroom," says Sky.
"Just piss yourself, you dirty girl," says what seems to be the leader.
“Excuse me, I just need to use the bathroom and I will be out of your way,” says Sky. “Please,” says Sky drained from her outburst at the principal.
“Oh look, it seems like someone is begging,” says another girl.
The leader suddenly walks up and grabs her hair, the leaders face is suddenly uncomfortably close to Sky’s,”Back off you dirty whore, James is mine.”
Sky spits in the girls face, causing them to drop her on the dirty floor. Sky sits up, as dignified as possible,”Please move, I really need to use the bathroom.” A girl grabs her by the front of her uniform forcing her to stand up,”Go then,” she says pushing her into a bathroom stall.
Sky’s body slams into the side of the stall, the laughter of the girls echoing.They slam the stall shut, their bodies nod allowing her to get out. Sky tries to push back to get out, but there are too many girls barring the way.
Logan’s voice is suddenly heard,"Hey I heard some commotion what's going on?"
The girls suddenly preen themselves getting off the stall,"Nothing Logan, so how about going on a date?" says one of the girls. Sky crashes down from the sudden release of pressure, the girls ignore her completely as if she didn’t exist.
"Sorry, I'm not planning on dating anyone during my senior year," says Logan as he walks into the bathroom.
"Oh-" the girls awkwardly stop talking.
"So, you're just going to pretend that you're not hurting my little sister," spits Logan, fury oozing in his voice.
“No,…We-“ they stop abruptly. It was the first time that Logan is so furious.
Logan gestures for the girls to get out of the way. Logan not caring that it was the girls bathroom, storms in and picks up Sky. His eyes look over his classmates in complete disgust, the girls whimper and rush out of the bathroom.
"Let's go," says Logan lifting his sister up.
Max stands on the side anxiously waiting, he heard the screaming but he didn't want to disturb the girl's privacy. "Is she okay?" asks Max.
“I need to check, but thanks for telling me when I was walking past, I'll bring her to your house, Mom told me that she kicked her out," says Logan.
"You sure?" asks Max trying to check to see if she was okay.
Logan nods,"Hang out with your boyfriend, I'm sure taking care of her is kind of life consuming."
Max nods awkwardly, he is over Logan, but it still would bite at him ever so often. They were each other's first, in many things. That was when Logan thought that he loved Max romantically, but Logan realized that he just loved Max as a little brother.
"I'm sorry that it didn't work," apologizes Logan softly, "you deserved someone better."
"I don't regret anything, don't worry. I-I've moved on," says Max with a sad smile.
Sky buries her head into Logan's chest,”I feel dirty," she says quietly.
“Okay, lets get you a nice bath,” says Logan smiling at his sister, who was letting her guard down.
"Thank you...for everything," says Max.
Logan smiles,"Your welcome…Little bro.”
Max makes his way over to where he eats lunch with Jayden, while Logan and Sky go in the opposite direction. As soon as the two pass out of sight, he runs to Jayden. He collapses on Jayden's lap and starts to cry. Jayden lets him cry, and just rubs his back comfortingly.
“I should let go," says Max, “he’s happy now, which should make me happy, but I can’t help but feel regret. I want him to love me.”
“He still loves you, just not in the way you want,” says Jayden.
“Thank you,”says Max, burying himself into Jayden’s chest.
Jayden just nods and wipes his tears off. He kisses him softly, and brings Max into a hug.
“I’ll love you,” Jayden says.
The car ride home is silent, granted the fact that Sky is asleep and Logan is driving. Logan carries Sky out of the car and opens the door to Max’s house. He shakes Sky awake,”Get up.”
Sky opens her eyes and carefully gets down from her brother’s arms and makes her way to the bathroom. Logan sits down on the couch to make sure that Sky would be okay. Then he hears muffled sobs from the bathroom. He shoots up and goes straight to the bathroom and knocks on the door. “Are you okay?” asks Logan.
“I’m fine,” says Sky, her voice muffled.
“Are you sure?” asks Logan.
“Yeah,” says Sky.
“Okay,” says Logan uncertainly walking away from the door.
Sky gets out of the shower, after scrubbing her skin harshly. She felt as if she’s something impure, something disgusting. Sky pulls on a large shirt and walks out, drying her hair, trying to place her facade back into place.
“You can tell me,” says Logan from the couch.
Sky collapses next to Logan on the couch and she curls up into his chest,”I just need to relax,” says Sky.
Logan nods and lets her rest her head on his chest. When he knows that she is deep asleep he tucks her into her bed. He kisses her forehead and leaves a note for her. Logan exits the house silently, careful not to wake his sister.
When Sky wakes up, she notices the note and smiles. It says:
Little sis I miss you lots, come talk to me at the Senior’s tables sometime.
