Xena's Story: A DBZ Fanfic

Body Swapped?!

I wake up due to the sun shining through my green curtains and onto my face. After tossing and turning trying to get the glare out of my face I huff a sigh and get up. I throw my leggings and combat boots on and walk into the bathroom. I wash my face and put my hair up into a ponytail, looking at my reflection in my mirror I get lost in thought.

'I don't see how everyone here can be so optimistic, they just keep fixing things that whoever is causing these problems keeps messing up again. It also seems that Trunks has been avoiding me not long after he carried me to the infirmary after I first got here. He was nice and trying to help me out no matter how much I blew him off and pushed him away...then one day he just kinda started to avoid me. I guess Elder Kai told him what me and Goku did back in my time line. I don't think I'm cut out for this...I don't have the compassion this job takes, that and I have issues doing missions where Goku is involved...' I get puled out of my thoughts by an argument outside my door.

"Sounds like some girls don't know how to be quiet." I growl as I walk to the door adjusting my tank top and jean shorts. I stop by the rack on the wall where I had placed my mother's staff. 'I miss you mother, I wish you were here now.' I hear more screaming from the hallway and storm towards the door and swing it open.

"O-oh Xena, g-good morning." The human girl stammered out backing away with the majin girl.

"S-sorry Xena, we will be going now." The majin girl said as the two of them ran off away from me.

'Nothing new, everyday is like this. Everyone here is pretty much afraid of me, I'm used to it by now.' I think to myself as I head into town towards a little café nearby for breakfast before the mission.

"Good morning Xena, want your usual?" Mina asked as I sat at my usual table outside. Mina is human who works for the café, she's one of the few people here that aren't afraid of me or can tolerate me. So I guess you could call us friends.

"Yea, thanks Mina." I said with one of my rare smiles.

"You really are super pretty when you smile Xena, you should smile more often and I'm sure people would warm up to you more. They would see the nice loving person I know you as." She said with her usual big bright smile as she writes down my usual order from memory.

"Yea right, don't think I would describe myself as 'nice' and 'loving' but thanks anyway." I say with a small chuckle.

"Say what you will but what I said stays, now I will be right back with your order!" She said happily as she walks off towards the kitchen inside.

"Nice and loving person huh, I don't see it but I will let her believe what she wants." I say looking out over the town as I wait for Mina to get back.

"Hey sorry to keep you waiting Xen, here ya go!" Mina said after about 8 minutes walking out with about three plates of food and a cup of coffee on a large tray.

"Thanks Mi, you got it? I don't want you to topple over carrying that." I said half standing up ready to help the wobbling skinny young girl.

"I got it Xen don't worry about it, and this is what I mean by a nice loving person. You always say you are cold and heartless but a cold and heartless person wouldn't be ready to jump up to help me out with this." She said with a confident smirk as she easily straightens up showing that she was faking it the whole time.

"You planned that didn't you." I said finally catching on to the fact that she played me and I fell for it. "You know you would have a better career as an actress with a performance like that." I joked as she put the try down and moved the plates and coffee cup onto my table.

"Now eat up, I'm sure you have work after this and I need to get back to work." She laughed as she picked up the tray and walks off waving. I quickly eat my breakfast, leaving my usual big tip for Mina, and head back to the barracks to change into my uniform before heading to the Time Nest.

"Are you sure we should give her this one? 'He's' highly involved in it, you sure she will be ok without flipping out on him?" I heard Trunks's hushed voice say to the kais as I walked in.

"We don't have much of a choice, we need someone with her strength to be able to fix this one." Supreme Kai of Time whispered back.

I clear my throat letting them know I was here. Trunks looks up at me with a slight glare before walking past me out of the room. "So what's this mission you have for me?" I asked pretending I didn't hear their conversation.

"Here look at this." Supreme Kai of Time said unrolling the corrupted time scroll. What we saw was the fight between the Ginyu Force and Goku. What went wrong in this fight is Ginyu swapped bodies with Vegeta before swapping bodies with Goku. "This isn't supposed to happen, Ginyu wasn't supposed to change bodies with Vegeta at all..." She said studying the scroll again.

The entire time my eyes were locked onto Goku. "No way in hell am I doing this one, I will have to fight along side him and I refuse to do so!" I said backing away from the scroll. "You guys know how I fell about missions where I have to fight along side him. I agreed to help you guys with this stuff one that one condition that I wouldn't be given these missions." I said backing away further.

"I told you guys she wouldn't do it, she's still as self-centered as ever. She hasn't changed at all since she got here, no matter how many people try and help her she just pushes them away or hurts them in one way or another." I heard Trunks say behind me. I turn around to see him in the door way leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Oh hush Trunks you aren't helping." Supreme Kai of Time said pouting at Trunks. "Anyway Xena listen to me carefully. You won't have to go near him, all you will have to do is keep the rest of Ginyu Force off him as he fights Ginyu...ok?" She asked me, a pleading look in her eyes.

"...Fine, I will do it." I sigh and give in to her pitiful little girl face.

"Thanks Xena!" She said happily handing you the scroll. "Remember, you only have to fend off the other members and keep them away from Goku. You don't have to get near him, ok? Good luck and see you when you get back." She said as the white light envelops me.

When the light fades I am on Namek near Gohan and Krillin. "W-who are you?" Gohan asked looking up at me.

"Who I am isn't important, just know I'm here to help you guys out." I said looking down at him. 'I think I have always been jealous of Gohan from the time lines I've seen, I never had a relationship with Goku like that and I know I never will.' I think to myself as I return my focus to the colorful band of aliens standing a little ways away from us.

After a while of everyone fighting Gohan and Krillin took off towards Frieza's ship to look for the dragon balls. Is was now just me and Goku left to fight the Ginyu Force. "You shouldn't lose your focus girl!" Burter yelled as he and Jeice charged at me while Goku fought Ginyu.

My focus was split in half while I was fighting, half on Goku and half on my fight. This caused a gap in my defense which Jeice took advantage of it and got a hit off on me sending me flying towards Ginyu. "Change now!" Ginyu yelled as a yellow beam shoots out of his mouth at Goku, well it was supposed hit him but I fell into the beam and everything got covered in a bright light.

When I opened my eyes what stood in front of me was a girl my size with the same fiery red hair that I do as well as my dark green and purple saiyan armor. "What the...!" I say hearing my voice drop as I look down at my hands which were purple.
