Xena's Story: A DBZ Fanfic

Happy 15th

It's been about two or three days since the incident with Trunks at the time nest and I did small missions and I got the day off today for my birthday. I change into my usual tank top and shorts then put my hair in a ponytail when I hear a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I call still messing with my hair.

"It's Mina let me in, I have some stuff for you." She said through the door.

"Sure, hang on a sec." I said tightening my ponytail and going to the door. "Morning Mi." I said opening the door to let her in.

"You broke your promise Xen, you said you would wear the dress I bought you." Mina said pouting as she put the bag she had on my bed.

"Sorry Mi, I'm just not big on dresses." I said rubbing the back of my head.

"Don't apologize go change into it now." She said grabbing the dress,giving it to me and shoving me into the bathroom. "Come on Xen, you can't spend all day in there we have to finish getting ready." Mina whined through the door after I had been in there for about twenty minutes.

"No way Mina, this dress is so tiny it barely goes halfway down my thighs!" I said through the bathroom door as I pull the bottom of the dress.

"Oh I'm sure it's fine and I have some leggings you can wear with it now come on out." Mina said through the door.

"Oh fine." I said opening the door and walking out of the bathroom.

"See you look so pretty! The dress shows off you body shape and why are you complaining about the dress being too short when your uniform you literally run around in a pair panties?" She asked rummaging through her bag.

"That's different, I'm used to the uniform...and the uniform isn't a tiny Chinese dress!" I said blushing pulling the dress down again.

"Xena stop before you tear it. Here put these on." She said handing me a pair of bright green stocking with clips.

"Really Mina?" I said holding up one of the stockings looking between it and her.

"It will look good I promise now put them on." She said shifting through the bag again.

"I'm scared to see what else you pull out of the bag of surprises you got." I said after sighing and started putting the stockings on.

"Hold still I'm going to mess with your hair next, I would do make up but I know you aren't going to allow that." She said as she started brushing my hair.

"Yea that's not happening, I'm just tolerating you making me this girly." I said sitting still.

"There, just put it in a high ponytail with a green ribbon." She said letting go of my hair.

"Alright enough turning me into a doll, what do you have planned?" I asked her turning around to look at her in her bright pink dress.

"It's a surprise~! Now come on let go into town!" She said jumping off my bed, grabbing my hand and dragging me out of my room. "Xena come on, why are you so slow?" Mina asked after we were walking around for a while.

"I don't know maybe it's because you have me in high heels and I've never worn them before." I said sarcastically as I stumble.

"Xena? What are you wearing, didn't think dresses were your style." Piccolo said when he noticed me walking by.

"H-hey Piccolo and they aren't, Mina made me wear it." I said looking at the ground embarrassed.

"Morning Mr. Piccolo, we are just out and about for Xena's birthday." Mina said chiming in.

"Well have fun then, and happy birthday Xena...fair warning a lot of people are out today so keep your cool around a certain person." Piccolo said saying the last part just loud enough for me to hear before walking off.

"Bye Mr. Piccolo!" Mina called waving as Piccolo walked away. "Ok come on, I have a really nice restaurant picked out for lunch so we should start heading over there since I have a reservation at noon." She said grabbing my hand and dragging me behind her again. We were walking for about twenty minutes when she points out the restaurant. "There it is...oh hey look it's Goku." She said noticing him by the restaurant entrance.

"Mina let's wait until he leaves or go to another restaurant for lunch." I said pulling her back by her arm.

"There's no reason to, he's a nice guy." She said before turning back to Goku and calling out to him. "Hey Goku! Long time no see how are you!" Mina yelled loud enough for him to hear her.

'Shit I need to leave, now!' I think to myself trying not to panic when Goku suddenly lands right in front of us.

"Heya Mina, how are you...and hi there I don't think we've met before. My names Goku!" He said cheerfully holding his hand out to me. His bright smile fades a little when I just stand there and don't say anything or shake his hand.

"Um...Xena?" Mina asked looking between me and Goku. "Something wrong?" She finally asked when she noticed I kept clenching and unclenching my fists.

"No there's nothing wrong and there's no reason for you to learn my name or remember my face Goku, because we won't talk or meet again." I said coldly while glaring at him before walking away.

"S-sorry Goku...Xena wait up!" I hear Mina yell as she ran after me. "Hey what was that about, all he did was hello...something wrong?" She asked confused by my actions.

"I really wish you wouldn't have called him over...in case you hadn't notice I go out of my way to avoid him." I said having a hard time controlling my anger.

"But why and why are you so angry with him just saying hi to you?" She asked still confused.

"Ever wondered why everyone here is afraid of me and avoids me? Well it's because of the way he made me! In my time line Goku is my father and he's a brutal monster, I am the way I am today because of the way he raised me to be, a cold-blooded killer. So sorry if I seems to be a little rude to him." I said loosing my temper.

"I-I'm sorry Xena...I didn't know. You never told me any of this, so how was I supposed to know?!" She asked as she started crying because I yelled at her.

"Because I didn't want you to get caught up in my past like everyone else in this godforsaken place! You should have just listen to me when I said we should leave instead of calling that spikey headed fucker over here!" I yelled unable to control my words anymore.

"Well I'm sorry I didn't know! Goku's a nice guy so I thought maybe you could make friends with him since I'm the only one you ever really talk to!" She said crying even more.

"Well now you know! Why don't you go hang out with the nice guy over and leave me alone." I said turning around and flying off at top speed to the barracks leaving Mina there by herself. When I get to my room I curl up on my bed trying to get back control while my eyes flash from green to grey and my power fluxes uncontrollably. Eventually I give in and end up trashing my room, destroying some of my furniture and end up flopping back on the bed after exhausted. I just lay there in the quiet until eventually I fall into a fitful sleep filled with nightmares and memories.
