IWhoo! Hello, lovers! I know, I know, enough with the interruptions, right? Nah. OK, this chapter isn't that long (have any of my chapters been?), but it does add a good dose of drama to the situation. Hopefully you like this one. If you do, or rather like the whole book, feel free to recommend it to a friend, vote it up, or fan me. Better yet, leave me a comment telling me how you feel about the story so far (which you've been lacking to do! ugh! ;) Thanks for reading and enjoy!

“YOU’RE WHAT?!”
I covered my ears, squeezing my eyes shut as hard as I could. Yeah, right. Like that was going to block out the noise. Man, when Joe got mad, all Hell broke loose. His voice was louder than a double-barreled shotgun blasting right next to your eardrum, and he was definitely not a happy camper. Then again, I wouldn’t be either considering the news that had gotten thrown in both of our faces today. Right when I was rounding the three week mark of the challenge, this bombshell was dropped on me. It was a doozy.
“You’re an idiot,” Joe yelled, hurling a throw-pillow at Johnny, who was cowering behind the kitchen bar, trying not to get murdered. “Are you serious?! What, do you need it written out to know that that girl is a recipe for disaster?!”
“Look, I know it’s a bit sudden and extremely unplanned, but we talked it over and she apologized to me and-”
“Apologized,” Joe snorted. “Oh, that erases everything, doesn’t it?! The girl was a bottom-feeder, Johnny! She ate the money right out of your wallet and regurgitated it out of spite and then ate it again right in front of you! And you let her! Who does that?! I’m sorry, but you’re crazy if you think she won’t do the same thing for round two!”
“Look, you don’t know that, OK,” Johnny hissed, opening the door to go out on the balcony and make a great escape. Right, like Joe was going to let that happen. No such luck. He slammed it just as soon as Johnny got a grip on the handle and shoved him away. Uh-oh. Violence. I thought about intervening, but then decided against it.
“Are you on crack? Seriously, John? You’re going to waste all of this progress for a girl you already had bad experiences with? Are you high?!”
“She apologized-”
“She SCREWED YOU OVER,” Joe yelled, slamming his fist against the wall. “Did you just decide to forget about all that? And you’re an idiot if you think you’re safe from a double dose of her bullshit.”
“I never decided I was going to get back with her,” Johnny protested, folding her arms. “We’re just talking; it’s not set in stone and I’m still thinking about it.”
“Not set in stone? Johnny…we know you, OK? We’ve been friends for a while. You’ll cave into that girl just like you used to do, and we’ll be back to square one. Is that really what you want? A repeat of last time?”
“Joe-”
“Nope, my turn,” Joe said, shoving Johnny back against the wall with one hand. “Shut-up!”
