Sirens screamed piercing my ears. I moaned and rolled over to get comfy but someones rough hands gently rolled me back to where I was. I whined in protest my voice sounding jagged and muffled.

That's when the pain began.

A scream sliced through the now deafening silence making my head pound. I took a deep breath in and the screaming stopped. It was my screams. As I began to get the feeling back into my body I wish I hadn't every inch of my body felt like it was burst into flames. The blood curling scream sounded again. I knew that it was me now but I couldn't feel it my throat was practically raw.

There was voices echoing from all around me but it sounded like I was underwater. I coughed the screaming once again paused and something warm and salty filled my mouth splattering across my clothes. What was I coughing up? Was I really underwater.

No I coughed again more of the warmth filling my mouth and running down my chin but this time I tasted something different.

Copper.

It was blood.

My vision was too blurry and I could feel my hands shaking. I pulled them slowly to my face. All I could see was the dark red everywhere.

I screamed again. It sounded more like a gurgle and I leaned over so the blood wouldn't fall back down my throat. I cringed at the taste. Hands sat me up and my head rolled to the side getting heavier.

"She's going under again!" A woman yelled her voice bouncing around in my skull.

Under? Maybe she meant underwater. Was I underwater? I couldn't remember.

Blackness invaded my vision again and my body slumped forward.

~~~
A soft hand cupped my cheek slowly bringing me back. My entire body was numb again and I was thankful I never wanted to experience that pain again.
I tried to make a sound but nothing came out. I tried to open my eyes but my eyelids were too heavy. I tried to move my hand or make some kind of notion that I was conscious but I couldn't.
What was wrong with me? Where was I? What happened? Questions filled my mind. Desperate for answers I made one last attempt to show signs of life for the person who was sitting next to me. I concentrated on my hand and with all the energy I had I tried to clench my hand.
"She moved! Her hand it moved!" A women called out to someone.
"Are you sure?" A male voice asked his heavy footfalls sounded toward me.
"Ill cut back a little on the numbing medicine and we'll see if she does anything once she gets some feeling back but if I take her off of it completely right now before the surgery there's a good chance she will be in pain again.' The man said now standing over me.
No! I silently yelled inside my head.
"Ok." The women answered her voice cracking at the end.
The room became silent.
Did everybody leave?
A tingling sensation started in my fingertips and slowly traveled up my arms.
My fingers lightly stroked something soft. A blanket.
"She moved again. The women screeched inches away from me making me cringe.
"I saw." The man said.
After a while my eyes fluttered open. Barely but enough to see. I was in a hospitable room white and blinding. The smell of cleaning products stung my nose as I inhaled sharply filling my lungs and holding it there enjoying the feeling of being able to breathe normally on my own. A soft beeping noises sounded from my right.
