<Rick's POV>

It was a very hard time for me. I love her so much but I had to do this. I thought I could make her happy but I was wrong. Everything went complicated when Hailey came back. She's my ex. I loved her so much, I proposed to her, asked her to marry me but she said no. I don't know why but we were happy, we talked about our future. I knew she'll be the girl I spend the rest of my life with. She never told me the reason why she said no. She just walked away crying and she left me kneeling down with the engagement ring in my hand. I asked myself why everyday. I got depressed, I think about her every night. She just disappeared. I was nothing when she left me.

Everything changed when I met Apple. She reminds me of Hailey. I moved on from her, I'm very happy now that Apple came in my life. I want her to be with me. She lighten up my world.

I was so shocked the first day I saw her after 2 years. She acted like she never left me. She made friends with Apple because she knew I like her but that's not gonna change my feelings, that's not gonna make her win me back. I don't know why she's still doing it. I told Apple not to be friends with her because I know her intentions but Apple is a stubborn kid

A week after, I received a call from her mom.

"Rick? Is that you? How are you?"

"I'm fine, I'm perfectly fine."

"Is my daughter there?"

"Yeah, she's in my school... I was surprised but you know, I'm inlove with someone else now."

"Rick, I need to talk to you.."

I went to Houston to talk with Hailey's mother and there she told me what really happened..

Hailey found out that she has Alzheimer's, that's why she broke up with me. She doesn't want me to marry her just to take care of her. That's why she left me. She never told me her reason. She tried to live without me but it's just worsening her disease. She got depressed, she always find me. She forgets her family except me.

Hailey's mom begged me to help her taking care of her daughter. It was a hard time for me but Hailey became a part of my life. Her mom told me about the medicines she needs, how to handle her when she's forgetting things.

Hailey went to my school just to see me and she's perfectly fine when she did. It's like I'm her healer. She acts normally. She doesn't forget things so often.

Started from that day, I got no time to see Apple. I can't say goodbye to her because I know I will never leave her. I'm just going to help Hailey recover and propose to her after.. Hailey came back to Houston and she was surprised to see me there, she was so happy. She talked alot. She told me she still love me but I don't feel the same. I lied about my feelings to her because I don't want to make her feel bad, it will just trigger her disease. I took care of her for almost a month. I asked permission to her mom to go back to my place to talk to Apple but I didn't expect that Hailey followed me..

I was at my favorite place, at the top of the school. I go there whenever I'm sad but I call it my favorite place. Ironic isn't it? I was about to call Apple but someone hugged me from behind.

"Rick." It's Hailey. She's crying.

"Please, love me again." She continued.

"What should I do to make you love me again? I will do anything! Tell me. Just please, come back to me. Please.. "

"I loved you.. but somebody owns my heart now. I'm so sorry, I no longer deserve you. You deserve someone who could love you back."

"Tell me who is she?! Tell me!
