We make it to the cafeteria and grab some food. Leo plops down with a large tray of rolls and starts to scarf them. "Jeez you even eat like an animal." Yema says sarcastically. Leo sticks his tongue out then continues to scarf his food. I look over and see Cardin's team picking on a poor faunus girl. I can't help but stare furiously at him. I hear metal crunching and look down. My tray had been crushed, my poor food trapped in the center. I look over and the others are staring at me. I put my hood up and throw the tray in the trash.

I walk out into the courtyard and just try and push everything from my mind. Cardin, the memories, everything. But it's all just swirling around. Like a giant, chaotic vortex in my mind. I try to put it aside and move on. We have history class with the overly caffeinated Professor, sorry, Dr. Oobleck. The man must have begun his addiction while getting his degree because I was having to force myself to stay awake. The class stayed mostly uninteresting until Cardin made a remark about faunus being easier to train than a human. My blood ran hot and I was starting to loose my patience. Luckily Oobleck dealt with him before I had to.

Class ends and I head up to the room. I take off the jacket and the tie and plop down in bed. Lilac gently opens the door and peeks in. "You okay?"

"Yeah, Cardin just irks me. How can people be so closed minded about Faunus. It makes me just wanna...." I release the breath that I hadn't realized I'd started to hold. "Aries..." I look over and I can tell she's concerned. "Are you sure that's all? You're starting to look pretty rough. Have you been sleeping alright?"

"I'm fine. Just needed a moment to breathe before dealing with Cardin again." She gives me a weak smile and stands up. I slip on my jacket and try to tie my tie with telekinesis but I'm distracted so it turns out wrong. I try and fiddle with it by hand but it becomes quickly obvious I don't know what I'm doing. Lilac laughs and undoes the knot. She reties the knot properly and straightens it. When she's done she pats it as if to say" There you go poor thing, Lilac won't let you look retarded like Aries does." I crack a smile and pull my books to me and leave behind her. "So, where you from?"

"Our grandma lives here in Vale. We used to live on the outskirts with our parents but..."

"But what?"

"My...my parents...went away on a mission. I haven't seen them since I was 8. Before they left we moved in with our grandma here in Vale."

"That must be hard. I live with my mom in Patch."

"What about your dad?"

"Dad wasn't much for staying anywhere. Mostly just drifted from place to place, person to person. Met my mom in a city in Vacuo. They had a short, year long marriage then I came along and he bolted."

"I imagine that had to be worse. At least I knew my parents, my heritage."

"It's not so bad. My mom is really cool. She went back to her maiden name after my dad left and gave me the same one. I never bothered to change it because the way I figured it, if he cared what name I had he would have stuck around."

"You're strong."

"So are you. That's why Ozpin let you in a year early. How did that go down?"

"You want the short answer or the full story?"

"Full story."

"Okay so where I lived with my parents there was this lavender field. Just on the other side was a small village named Lavandeville. Well we were there visiting some old friends and enjoying the bloom festival when a huge pack of Beowolves attacked. probably drawn by the smell of the freshly bloomed lavender plants. Me and Leo managed to clear all the wolves and acted as security during the event until they managed to get the walls mended. As luck would have it, a professor here by the name of Port was there also enjoying the festival and by the recommendation of him seconded by a petition created by the city of Lavandeville I was accepted a year early. Now when I go there people know me as "Aries the Wolfsbane" and Leo as "Leo the black shadow"."
