The next few days are uneventful. Lilac helps Ruby heal up so no one has to know what happened. When Glynda asks about the pillar we say I flew off course and rammed it. But it was the night before the Vytal Ball so everyone is rushing and trying to prepare. Weiss and Yang are busy planning it and trying to convince Blake to take a rest from her investigation. I suppose my teammates are in a similar boat with me since I can't shrug this feeling I've been getting from these Haven students. I've been too busy to recon them but they make me uneasy. I walk into the hall when Weiss stops me. "I need your help. How tall are you?"
"5'8?"
"You'll do." She grabs me and drags me onto the stage. "I'm trying to design the decorations and I need a good scale to work with. She lifts her thumb, probably gaining my scale. "How about this?" I create a pillar of energy, exactly six foot. "This is exactly six foot. It'll be a better measurement." She nods and I go to see if Yang needs help since I can't leave while I'm holding the construct. "Hey fireball, need any help?"
"Nah, mostly just setting up the audio."
"I can help you set them in place."
"Alright, Hercules. Lift them if you can" I close my eyes and concentrate. The speakers levitate off the ground and into the air. Yang directs me where to put the speakers and I levitate them into place.
Later on I'm walking down the hall when I see emerald with her ear to my dorm. I hide around the corner and wait for her to walk away. I tail her only to be blindsided and knocked out. I wake up In an unfamiliar room, tied to a chair. "Hello, Aries." That voice, it's so cold, and familiar. I look up to see Tyrian's manic stare. "You!" I go to try and break free but I feel too weak to move. "Hehehehe! I injected you with just enough poison to weaken your nervous system! Good luck using your semblance!"
"What do you want you demon!"
"Now, now. That's no way to talk to family."
"You're, not, family!"
"Well now, just relax. We're going to be seeing a lot of each other from now on!"
"What do you mean?" I ask angrily.
"Well, her majesty has a proposition for you. You see, you've managed to get too close to something big, very big indeed. Now we don't want that, do we? She proposes you come under our wing. Your, abilities, will make you an excellent informant."
"Eat shit Tyrian."
"Already tried it, tastes horrible. But thanks for the suggestion. I guess if you don't intend to cooperate we'll have no choice but to kill off that sweet old lady you care so much about." He opens my scroll and lays it in front of me, showing a picture of my team in front of my grandmother's house with grandma in the middle. "You touch her I'll rip your tail off and shove it down your throat!" I struggle in my seat but it's no use. I'm too weak and my other abilities are failing me too. "Alright, Tyrian. I'll do it. Just leave her be."
"We thought you'd see it our way!" Tyrian knocks me out again and I wake up back in the hall, my strength returned to me. I stand up and walk into the room. Everyone looks up at me in surprise, Lilac runs up and hugs me. "Where have you been? We were all worried!"
"I went out on a flight, I was trying to master some of the modifications to the wings. Guess I lost track of time." I join them at a table for our ritual game of Heroes of Remnant. We're preparing our decks when I sense someone staring at me. "Aries what happened to your face?" Lilac asks. I look at my face in the scroll cam and notice a pair of nasty bruises at the side of my face. "I got in a scrap with a couple nevermore. One dive bombed me and hit me in the side of the head. But I managed to get the upper hand."
