The next few weeks I stay by Lilac's side. Waiting for her wound to heal, while simultaneously healing myself. She was able to heal most of my wounds but the one in my chest still needed some time to fully heal. I walk around Vale and the energy is different. It used to be joyful and full of life but now it's dark, angry, and mournful. Faunus are being beaten in the street, leading to many fleeing to Menagerie. After the attack. Yema went home to Mistral. Leaving only the three of us.
I return home with the groceries. We moved in with Ms. Flora after the attack, our house being one of the ones ruined in the attack and our parents' one being trampled by Grimm. "Leo, we need to talk." I tell him as I set the groceries down. We go out back, away from where they can hear us. "Leo, I think you should hop the next boat to Menagerie."
"Dude, humans-" I use my telekinesis to pull his hair away from his lion ears. "Leo, I never thought of you anything other than my brother. And as your brother I want what's best for you. You and Grandma are all I have left. As long as you're safe, even if it keeps me from seeing you for a while, so be it." Leo pulls me into a hug. "Don't worry, bro. I'll be right here when you get back." Leo waves goodbye and runs off. I walk in and grab my scythe, a bag full of clothes, and my newly mended coat. I hear Lilac's wheelchair roll up behind me. "Aries?" I turn around and she's rolled herself into the doorway, blocking my path. "Where are you going?"
"I'm in good shape so I'm going out to help stop the people that attacked Beacon. Ruby and her team are already headed toward Anima. Figure it's as good of a lead as any."
"You're not going to do anything reckless, are you?"
"I'll do what I must. Nothing less." I walk over and she tries to bar me by sticking her staff through her wheels. I place my hand on her head and her eyes go wide as mine shift into her lilac hue. "Sleep." She passes out and I catch her, laying her on the bed they'd loaned to me. I pull her staff from her chair and leave them both by the bed and walk out the door.
