"You're sure about this Betty?" Jughead Jones, the town's own Ernest Hemingway said as he neared the pristine, perfect Betty Cooper's home."Absolutely Juggy! As long as my mom and dad don't find out, you're free to stay here for as long as you want, well, until you have to leave." Betty replied, chuckling a bit at her quick response.
It's been over a week after the town of Riverdale finally unmasked the mystery that was Jason Blossom's death, and even after the slight relief of finding his killer, the atmosphere of the town was left as tense as before. Jughead's father was charged with the crime of Obstruction of Justice. A silly way of stating that he lied to officer Keller while he was questioned. So, Jug had to move in with a foster family, since his mother couldn't let him stay with her. Betty was devastated when she heard, but she would find a way to make their relationship work, hopefully. For now, she let Jug stay with her. Archie Andrews lived right next door, and he really didn't mind. He'd visit occasionally, and bring something from Pop's. Archie wasn't very well himself though. Everyone in town had heard about what had happend to his father, and none of us could believe how such a thing could possibly happen. No one knew who shot that bullet, and who robbed Pop. Archie is determined to make justice for his father, but the whole town was too tired from the previous big mystery to help. So he had been investigating himself, digging into little pieces of information he can find. Veronica Lodge at his side. His ice princess who'd help him any way she can. Although, her mood towards investigating had gone south ever since her father's arrival. Mr.Lodge was in jail as well, but had recently gotten out. And after he heard of Hermione and Fred's little "situation", he had been very demanding, and VERY rude. It became hard to study in her room when all she could hear was the faint murmurs of profanities and cries. It hurt her, so much. She stayed very quiet. No more quirky nicknames, or intelligent comebacks. Just silence. And that left us with Betty. Polly was due very soon, and the whole family was ecstatic, except for Polly. After the Blossom Mansion was mysteriously burnt to ashes, Cherryl Blossom had to live elsewhere. And Polly hated it. She found it unfair to Jason how his sister was treated so terribly. Betty agreed, but didn't think very much about it. Polly normally stayed up in her room, drawing. It was apparently a new hobby of hers that she had acquired. Day and night. Up in her room, alone.
"I have an empty drawer in my dresser, you can put your clothes there. OH! And I'm pretty sure I have a sleeping bag up in my-"
"Betts, I appreciate your impeccable enthusiasm, but right now, I'd just like to just lie down. " Jughead responded, climbing onto Betty's bed and closing his eyes.
Betty smiled, watching his chest rise and fall, up and down. She walked up to him, and planted a kiss on his forehead, a little grin grew on his face as she closed the door. She decided to check up on Polly, but as soon as she opened her bedroom's pale pink door, Polly yelled at her to slam it shut. "Well, looks like everyone's not very peppy today.." She walked to the kitchen, checking what snacks were available in the cupboards. As she dug her hands into a box of cookies, the doorbell rang. Opening the door, she was surprised to see Archie standing in front of her.
"Uh, Hi Archie, everything alright?" Betty asked, obviously curious to why he was awake at 3 in the morning.
"I have to talk to you, and Jug."
"He's not really in the proper state to chat right now, Arch. Maybe later?" As she was about to close the door, Archie's hand bounced onto the stained wood, forcing her to keep it open.
"Archie, what the hell?!"
"Betty, this is important."
"It's 3 in the freaking morning Arch! It can wait!"
"Did you know that he became a South Side Serpent?" Archie exclaimed.
She gasped slightly. No one except her and Jughead knew that he was a serpent.
"...Come inside." She replied, defeated.
Archie, triumphant, walked in. And as he did, all that Betty could think about was,
How did he find out? And what else did he know about the new bad boy in town?

I never expected myself to write Bughead fan fiction, but lookie here!I ship them so hard, and I couldn't bear to just leave them as it is after that season one finale (Can I get a AMEN for that last scene), so here we are. I hope you guys enjoyed this tiny intro to the story. I tried to keep it very short, sweet, and left wanting more ;)
