Polly had helped Betty put her hair up into a pretty little bun. She left a few ringlets that dropped on her face. Betty watched as her sister cleaned the hairdo up with a few bobby pins before she blurted out:

"Done!"

She admired the look in the mirror. It was really cute.

"Thanks, Polly!"

She stood up, and hugged her sister.

"You really need to learn how to do your hair by yourself, Betty Boop." Polly said, giggling.

"The only hairstyle I'll ever need's my trusty ponytail." She joked.

Polly sighed,  shaking he head in disappointment before nudging her sister in the shoulder and leaving her room.

Betty ran over to her window, waiting for Jughead to appear with his dad.

He wanted to go on a play date with Betty to the Twilight Drive-In. Of course, Betty's mother didn't approve of the duo at all, but after Polly helped her sister by asking their mom to go shop for school supplies with her, she had let her grudge against the Jones family slide. Since, nobody would be home to take care of Betty.

Betty sat down on her bed, and picked up one of her Nancy Drew detective books while she waited. She knew that Jughead would be a bit late, as his father's old Ford Ranger was a bit worn out.

She looked at her bedside clock impatiently. She couldn't wait to go to the drive-in and watch The Goonies, one of her favorite movies her dad had shown her when she was younger.

She sighed loudly, dumping the book on her face dramatically.

She loved reading Nancy Drew. The character sparked curiosity in her, and the excitement to solve the mysteries made Betty squirm in her seat.

But today, it seemed to bore her more than History with Miss Haggly.

Standing up, she went over to her stereo and began to play a little song from her favorite Disney movie.

She danced throughout her room to the soft ballad, singing along to the lyrics.

"...no matter how your heart is grieving.."

She heard soft footsteps from the stairs nearby, but quickly dismissed them for being her parents.

"...if you keep on believing..." She continued.

The creak of her door could be heard as someone entered it.

"...the dream that you wish, will, come, tr-"

She turned around, her eyes only to be met by Jughead's.

His face blushed into a deep red as he looked away, chuckling nervously.

Betty gulped, and turned the music off.

"Did...did you hear that?" She asked.

He nodded.

"You have a really pretty voice, Betty."

"Thanks, Juggie." She giggled.

"So, jumbo bag of popcorn?" He asked.

...

They had just settled in FP's car, when he left them to go talk to some people in the back of the drive-in.
