Archie sighed as he looked up at Betty. Her face creased as she smiled.
"I'm sorry, Betty. About everything."
She sat up and ruffled her hair lightly with her hands.
"It's...it's okay, Archie."
"No it's not, Betty. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be in a hospital right now."
"Jughead's never going to forgive me, unless I admit to him what I've done. So, I promise you, I'll fix this."
Her face lit up, a sliver of hope that seems to shine out as he walks up to her bed, before hugging her tightly.
But, this time, the words that came out of his mouth were true.
Her breath hitched as he let go.
"Thanks, Arch." She whispered as she lied back down.
"It's no problem, Betty."
He walked out the door as he met eyes with Betty's parents.
Alice looked up at him with disgust, only to soften them once she neared her daughter's room.
He could practically hear her squeal as she rushed to the blond's side.
Ignoring her, he walked into the waiting room.
To his surprise, he found Jughead lying down on one of the couches, arguing with a nurse.
"Sir, you've been here for three days. Maybe you should get some rest at your own residency."
He snickered.
"No, I think I'll just take one last nap here."
"Sir-"
"One.Last.Nap."
The nurse turned around, rolling her eyes before walking away.
Archie walked up to him, and sat down.
"Hey."
Jughead opened his eyes and sat up in surprise.
"Archie? What the hell are you doing here?!"He burst out.
"I came here to apologize."
Jughead shook his head and chuckled.
"Sure, you are. Thanks for the good laugh, dude. Really needed it."
Archie stopped him before he took off.
"Jughead, I really did use Betty."
The raven-haired boy took his seat again slowly, looking up at the redhead.
He played around with the hem of his shirt.
"I...I kinda guessed that."
The two sighed.
"If you told me this a long time ago, none of this would have happend. You know that, right?"
"I know, trust me." He uttered as he traced he lines on the wooden chair.
They sat in uncomfortable silence for minutes, pondering on what to do next.
Finally, Jughead got up and walked up to Archie.
"Farewell Andrews." He said, smiling.
"Bye Jughead." Archie hummed.
His footsteps were silent as he walked out the hospital entrance, glancing one last time at his ex best friend. Archie gave him one last toothy grin before he took off.
