Betty looked up at the clock in her class ticking. Every second passing by slowly, building up her anticipation to leave. She took notes of everything written down on the chalkboard before stepping up and grabbing her things. The bell rang as she left the room. Feet moving with determination, she searched for her two best friends to tell them her plans for the day.
It had been 2 full weeks since Jughead Jones had talked to her. 2 long, miserable weeks. She expected him to call her, possibly email, or maybe even send a letter. But, to her dismay, he had never contacted her once. So, she took it upon herself to talk to him herself. That day.
Arrived already at her locker were Veronica and Kevin. Her grin grew wider as she approached them.
"B! What's up?" Veronica chirped as Betty opened her lock.
"Nothing much. Yet."
"Cliffhanger! What's going to unfold later on today?" Kevin added, sipping on his soda from the cafeteria.
Ronnie looked up at her, eager to hear her answer.
"I'm finally going to talk to Jughead today.I'll know where we stand in our relationship, and I'm both nervous and excited."
V clapped her hands childishly and Kev brought her into a big hug.
"About time! Go and bring Romeo home!" He cheered.
" How I miss our little pessimistic tot." Veronica beamed as she twirled around the hallway.
"Guys, Juggie still goes to a different school." She reminded them, taking her Pre-Calc book and closing her locker.
"Still, we both miss seeing him around." V said.
Betty giggled. She missed the core four being together as well. All of them huddled up in a booth at Pop's. Those memories seemed so long ago, even though they just a few months ago. Sadly, she didn't even know if the core four were even a possibility, now that Archie had lost contact with them.
The trio began to walk to the cafeteria.
"What about you and Joaquin?" Betty asked curiously.
Kevin looked down on the ground and chuckled.
"That wasn't what we were talking about."
"Well, B just switched the subject. So speak up, Kev!" V smirked
His face grew a bit pink.
"I saw him last Saturday."
"And?" Ronnie asked.
He looked and up and smiled before walking faster, away from the girls.
They both gasped, surprised.
Veronica ran up to him, desperate for answers, while Betty skipped quickly to catch up.
"Kevin Keller! You dog!"
"Oh my god, Kev! Did you? Really?"
He didn't bother to answer both, and just changed subjects again.
"When are you visiting Jughead?"
"KEVIN!" Ronnie screeched.
He laughed.
"Yes, we did. Really."
Veronica screamed excitedly.
"My gay #OTP's back in business!"
Betty was excited as well, but got lost in something else that caught her eye.
Josie and Cherryl at the back of the school.
