" They said that? " Jughead asked, gripping the  lunch table.

"Yup! It was crazy!" Veronica said, taking a bite of her sad, soggy cafeteria salad.

The foursome (excluding Archie) were outside on one of the lunch tables provided by the school gossiping of the events that had occurred yesterday at the diner. Jughead was eager to hear of it, only because Fred Andrews was included in the story, obviously.

" I feel as if Josie might be in on what happend with Fred, but I'm not so sure..." Betty added.

"I doubt it, she probably threatened you with that to scare you. Josie would never be capable of murder." He responded.

"I'm still blooming over the new couple! EEP!" Kevin screeched, giggling and flaying his hands around like an excited toddler.

"Calm down, Kev!" Ronnie said, laughing as well.

"Sorry, I'm just so excited!"

" Ah, it's not a big deal. " Jughead finished adding into the conversation by surrounding his focus on his grilled cheese, slathered in butter and processed cheddar.

Archie walked over, putting down his tray of food, sitting down and kissing Veronica on the cheek. They made up over text, Archie and her both apologized. It was a short break, as always.

Jughead noticed him, and opened up his phone, pretending to read something. Betty, instead, focused on her fruit cup, swishing around the fruits in the sugary compote.

"WELL, now that Archiekins is here, I can finally tell you all my idea for our beginning of the year party!" Ronnie said, excitement breaking the silence.

Everyone except Jughead had their ears wide open, eager to hear of her plans.

"So, as you all know, I'm the one hosting this year..."

She winked, before continuing.

"... so it has to be extravagant!"

Archie sighed.

"Ronnie, as much as I love your ideas, it's just a simple party. We don't need champagne and caviar." He said.

"Hush! It's not going to be THAT extravagant. Just a bit more fun with a DJ perhaps? Daddy's letting me use his credit card for all the expenses, so it'll be the best one yet!"

"Well, I hope you guys have fun." Betty said, smiling. She didn't plan on going if Archie would be there.

" Aw, Betty, you're not coming?" Kevin asked, pouting.

Jughead looked up at her curiously.

"You aren't?"

" I don't know, Juggie. The last time I went to one of them, it didn't really end well." She replied, reminiscing of the tragedy that was Jug's birthday.

" You have to come Betty! It won't be any fun without you!" Ronnie pleaded.

"C'mon Betty! Loosen yourself up for a night!" Kevin added.

She looked over at Jughead, awaiting his opinion.

"It's fine. Go! I'll be fine with my writing and a burger anyhow." He replied, smirking.

"Okay, well, if Jughead doesn't mind, then, I'll go!" She decided.

Veronica and Kevin cheered her on. She looked over to Archie and saw him smiling. She cannot talk to him at that party, at all costs.
