I got to school the next day, early. As I walked around the hallways, I noted people whispering as I passed them. Girls, both seniors and juniors pointed accusing fingers at me. Smirking as if they knew me well enough to judge by looking at me.

I half jogged to my locker, got my textbooks and quickly ran to our classroom. When I got inside, no one was still there.

My phone rang and I picked up.

"Tomika. Janitor's closet, now," Summer's voice was urgent and upset.

My blood ran cold and I quickly dropped my things and got to the janitor's closet. A hand pulled me in and I saw Summer with Freddy, both looking serious.

"What's this all about?" I asked, my voice shaking terribly.

Instead of responding, Freddy handed me his phone. It screen blared as a video of me and Summer at the beach. My voice was loud and clear, and perfectly captured. My throat ran dry. I knew this was coming.

I knew someone was watching us.

"He knows. Everybody knows, especially Cassandra. And they are hating you for it," Summer says.

My knees wobbled then Freddy took his phone and gave it back to me. I took another look. My video was posted at the school website. Its headline wrote, 'The Nobody Loves a Hearthrob.'

Tears stung the back of my eyes. What was wrong to love somebody? Why is it that they call me a 'Nobody?'

"What did he say?" I asked instead, biting the inside if my cheeks to prevent the tears to flow.

"Nothing. He just ran for Cassandra to explain that—" Freddy stopped before he could say the words that he knew that I knew so well.

I sighed and stood silent, until we heard the bell ring. I told the pair to go ahead of me, and now, I hugged my knees to my chest. Pondering upon who could have been watching us yesterday.

Several hours must have past by, because Summer came back. She was fully concerned and hugged me, whispering continuously that it would be okay. Then we got to the cafeteria.

Students gave me withering glares as I got my seat. When Summer left me alone to get Freddy and Lawrence, Clark stopped by.

"Alone again, are you?" he asks before gesturing over his shoulder. He walks away before a pack of boys and girls threw flour and eggs right at me. I shielded myself, and tried running away, but a auburn haired girl stuck her feet out. Blinded by flour and raw eggs, I tripped against the girl's feet.

I landed on my face, my nose started bleeding as I heard the whole school howling with laughter. I caught a glimpse of Zack on a corner, he wasn't laughing but his arms were crossed. A blondie was beside him, her emerald eyes weird and smirking. She kissed Zack's cheek before cackling evilly.

I rose up to my feet, my hands nursing my broken nose as I got out. I quickly went to the comfort room. But as I opened the door, a bucket of water landed on my head, drenching me coldly. Junior girls, giggled behind a pillar and watched me walk away.

Where was Summer, Freddy, Lawrence, and Esme? My tears kept falling as I wove around the school, students laughed as I passed them.

"Tomika?" a voice called.

I turned and saw Keith Teri. He wasn't laughing at me, but he was looking rather concerned. He rushed to me and took his jacket of and placed it over my shoulder.

"You shouldn't be kind," I mumbled to him, his brown eyes flitted on mine and he smiled.

"Why not?" he asks.

"Because I have forgotten my place, and have fallen in love with a supposed 'hearthrob,'" I cried, burying my face in my palms. Embarrassment settled inside me and I felt helpless.

"You've changed a lot Toms," he brushed a hair to my ear and he leaned closer. "You used to be a badass, but now, look at you crying."

I laughed despite I was quite annoyed at him. He used to be my boyfriend, until he dumped me for the same Cassandra Pitt whom Zack was currently in love with.

"Tomiks!" I heard Summer's voice.

She got next me with Freddy and the others, except Zack. She hugged me but said nothing. But when she saw Keith beside me, she totally freaked out.

"What's he doing here?" she stutters.

He laughed at her and took my hand, "Just helping a friend, blondie. Don't worry."

I smiled at him before he left. He waved goodbye until he disappeared with Duke LeManch, his bestfriend.

"C'mon, we need you to change, you look horrible," Summer says, leading me to her locker. She took her emergency clothes, which was inside a cardboard box. She led me to the janitor's closet, the safest place at school.

She lit up her phone's flashlight, before taking out a navy blue top and sky blue striped skirt from the box. She let me change into it and let me slid on a pair of Roman-styled sandals.

"You look perfect," Summer compliments before we head out the closet. We got back to the classroom where the others were. Mr. Finn sat on his desk, his hand holding his chin. Zack was beside him, his head bent completely, ashamed.

"Some friend you are," Freddy snaps from his drums, his fingers tightly wrapped over his drumsticks.

Lawrence stood up from his keyboard and snatched Zack's palm out before handing him something, "No more video game nights. Don't ever come by to my house again asking for chocolate puddings whenever you're hungry."

I was stunned. I walked up to Zack and took the video game card Lawrence coldly hands him just now, "This isn't right guys. It's okay if he didn't defend me a while back, because I'm all better now."

I hand the card back to Lawrence as I kept talking, "Friends forgive, right?"

But we weren't on the same page. Lawrence brushed past me and he handed back the card and grabbed my shoulders, "Sometimes, friends break up, Tomika."

Mr. Finn didn't object, he just stood there with his hands over his stubbled chin. He avoided my gaze and looked at Zack. Zack nodded and left with his bag over his shoulder. My breathing became ragged and I just stood there, completely frozen.

"That hell of a guy, dared changing classes?" Summer shrieks, bolting for the door. Thankfully, Freddy was fast enough to stop her. She kept shrieking and yelling that Freddy better let her go, but he was much stronger. He kept her back until she finally gave up.

"I'm sorry Tomika, but his father informed me too. Said that Zack wasn't getting the right education he needed," Mr. Finn finally says when the room went quiet.

"Zack told his father, didn't he?" I asked.

He nodded, and took a box from his desk. It was filled with his stuff, and we all went agape.

"You're quitting on us?" Lawrence asks, his voice as horrified as our reaction.

"I'm not quitting on you, guys, but Principal Mullins fired me this morning," Mr. Finn says quietly.

"This is all my fault," I quickly sprinted to the Principal's office.

Everything is going upside down. And involving my friends and the band because I had feelings for the most popular guy at the whole school was too much. I needed to talk to Principal Mullins. I need to right some wrongs.
