Chapter 10

"Bye, boops," I poked his nose for the last time. He laughed, his visor pulled up, his plump cheeks pale and sweaty.

He also poked my nose, "Bye too, boops."

I tried to hold back tears. My ears seared red, my tongue was parched. I took another box, which was filled with my possessions. I wanted to tell him that I was leaving. I wanted to tell Summer or Esme, but I didn't want them to be acting like I was going to peave them forever.

We put our boxes at the moving truck, Red watched us from the window. I knew that he was going to stay. College stuff and all.

I gave him a hug before handing him a navy blue box and a soft pink box that bore Zack's and Summer's names. He gave me a look, and understood immediately. He watched as me and mum drive away, his green eyes filled with tears. As much as I can remember, my brother was the one who always looked like Papa, but he had mum's eyes.

I waved goodbye to him. He waved back. As we moved farther my vision of my brother blurred, he became a small speck and our small cream flat became gigantic. I feel homesick already. I wished I could go back and stay woth Red.

I looked at mum, then to a picture of my red headed Papa. Chewing on my bottom lip, I looked towards the rising sun. The sky looks like a masterpiece. Colors like, pink, yellow and orange stripped from a canvas.

I had to be brave, and strong. I touched the intertwined pendant that was resting warmly against my collarbone. I brought it closer to my lips, giving it a light peck.

"See you soon, boops," I murmured, making it inaudible for my mum to hear.

I knew it was hard for her too. I made her promise that she wouldn't tell my friends that we moved away. And she knew that would be deceiving Mrs. Hastings, Summer's mum, who happened to be my mum's closest friend.

"See you soon too, Sum," I whispered to the sun.

Till the next time we meet.

But for now, I love you.

To the moon and back.

I know this is my shortest chapter, and Tomika is moving. What happens to Zack now?
Do you think he has feelings for Tomika now?
So the next chapter will be like a Part Two. And they will be college students.
