I called Tara, she was a doctor after all. I knew it was too late, he was dead. But, what if there was something she could do?
I was lying to myself.
He wasn't coming back. He was gone. And as many times as I kept telling myself that, it didn't seem real.
How could the guy, who's eyes were bright, and full of life no matter what he was going through deep down, be gone now?
How could someone that never did anything to hurt anyone, be dead for something he had nothing to do with?
Yes, he killed the rest of those guys who attacked me. But, he didn't deserve to die for it. I guess it didn't matter what he deserved and what he didn't.
Because in the end, this is what happens to someone that runs with SAMCRO.
Sooner or later, I'd be the one on the ground. Knife to my stomach, someone blaming themself, wondering what they could've done. But didn't, like I was doing for him right now.
My train of thought was broken when I heard the roar of a motorcycle outside.
Piney.
He didn't bother knocking. He just walked in, Opie followed him, Great. Just what I needed.
Tara and Jax came inside after them. I stayed silent, as they all looked at me. I stood to my feet and wiped them on my hands, as I started to tear up again.
I ran past Opie and Tara to Piney, and hugged him tightly.
Without my dad, the only person I had was Piney. Though I was thankful for Tara, Opie, and even Jax coming, I didn't want their comfort.
"How'd this happen?" Jax mumbled. I explained everything, and he and Opie volunteered to take the bodies.
Tara put her hand on my shoulder, as an attempt to console me.
Piney suggested that I go to the club house with him. I took the advice and we left.
When I walked in, I didn't talk to anyone. I went to Opie's room, and laid in bed. Trying to find a way to sleep.
-----
Jax arrived later, and met Clay at the table, and slammed the door behind him.
"What the h*ll Clay?! I know this attack on Harley wasn't an accident. How did that psycho from prison know where she lived?" He hissed.
Clay rolled his eyes. "He was just supposed to kill her, nothing else. You couldn't do it, and someone had to." Clay replied.
Jax shook his head, and told Clay all that went wrong because of his failed plan.
"Half Sack? Sh*t. But, she killed the guy? At least no one will know I was involved." He mumbled, a bit disappointed in himself.
Jax put a gun on the table. It was sealed in a plastic bag.
"That brings us to plan B, we aren't gonna kill her. We're gonna send her to prison. She doesn't need to die Clay. We do it this way, for Otto."
----
Juice couldn't help but listen to Clay and Jax's conversation when he heard my name.
He swallowed the lump in his throat and walked past it as fast as he could.
Where could he go with this information? What was he supposed to do?
He knew he had to do something, and fast.
-----
Opie opened his door, and shut it behind him, then he saw me.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here." He explained. I shook my head. "It's fine Opie."
He laid on the bed next to me, and we both looked at the ceiling, not saying anything, until Opie cleared his throat.
"You didn't call me."
"It wasn't about you." I shrugged.
He let out a sigh and nodded, letting a few moments of silence go by again.
"You didn't call Juice."
I chuckled softly and shook my head.
"It wasn't about him either."
He smiled softly, I'm not sure why really. He rubbed his eyes, and his smile faded. "Harley, I'm sorry about Half Sack-" I cut him off.
"Kip. His name was Kip."
He nodded. "Yeah, Kip. I'm sorry. I know he meant a lot to you." I started to tear up again, and I shook my head.
"This isn't about me either Opie."
I cried as I wiped my eyes. He grabbed my hand gently.
"I know, I know, it's about him. And it should be. I'm just..saying what he would've I guess. Kip was a great guy, took more crap than he deserved to. Most people would've quit." He stated.
"Maybe I should quit." I mumbled, Opie looked over at me, but said nothing, and turned his head back to the ceiling.
"You're not gonna try to talk me out of it?" I asked, he shook his head. "No. I'm not. You don't listen to me anyway." He chuckled. I smiled.
"Smart move Ope, smart move."
