I'd somehow managed to fall asleep, after talking with Opie. He left me to get my rest, and left the room.
He ran into Juice who was practically out of breath.
"There...you are! I've been looking all...over for..you!" He huffed. Opie furrowed his brows. "What the h*ll is wrong with you?"
Juice took a moment to catch his breath. "It's an emergency Ope. I don't know who else I'm supposed to talk to."
Opie rolled his eyes. "Where did you even look? I've been in my room for hours." He scoffed as he crossed his arms.
Juice shrugged. "Well, wasn't Harley in there?" Opie smirked and cocked his head slightly.
"Yeah. Still is."
Juice ignored the sting those words left, and just sighed. "Well, I didn't wanna wake her up. Plus..I can't upset her with this, not now."
Opie rolled his eyes. "What do you want?" He asked an annoyed tone in his voice.
Juice looked around, and saw nobody else in the room, then he told Opie what he'd heard Jax and Clay talking about.
"And you didn't wanna be the hero?" Opie scoffed. "That's hard to believe.
Juice rolled his eyes. "D*mnit Ope! I called it off! I'm not trying to get between you guys, I told her to work things out with you." He admitted.
"You-you did what? Sh*t Juice, and you're letting me stand here and be a d*ck?"
"You gonna yell at me for that too?" Juice said sarcastically. Opie rolled his eyes. "Shut up Juice."
"Oh great. Tell me to shut up. How nice of you." Juice replied sarcastically, earning an eye roll from Opie.
"I'm serious Juice. Shut up. I'm trying to think. You sure Jax is in on this?" He asked, feeling betrayed by a brother for the second time this week.
Juice nodded. "Yes, but..I don't know if he really wants to be. He's trying to make sure she's in prison. I don't know how he expects to do that though."
Opie let out a sigh and rubbed his face. "He has the gun Harley killed that guy who hated Otto."
They sat in silence for a few seconds.
"Do you..love her Opie?"
Opie ignored the question. "I'm gonna work on getting that gun back. You, just see what else you can find out." He stated before starting to walk off.
"You didn't answer my question."
Juice stated, Opie turned back to face him. He bit his lip before cocking his head.
"Do you?"
Juice shrugged and faked a smile. "I'm incapable of that. Remember?" He sighed. "This isn't about me anymore. I'm asking you Ope."
Opie sighed, as he leaned up against the wall, he crossed his arms.
"When I lost Donna, I lost a piece of myself. When Harley came back, I thought it'd be a chance to distract myself. But..it wasn't."
He started as he smiled softly.
"Because Harley isn't the type of girl you can distract yourself with. She's the type of girl, that makes you remember what happiness felt like in the first place. And she's everything I needed. Yeah. I love her. But I'm not sure she'll ever love me back. And I understand that." Opie paused for a second before chuckling softly.
"Why would she?"
He stormed off, leaving Juice with just his thoughts.
-----
The next few months, were not as easy as I'd hoped they would be. I even found myself writing down my thoughts, the way JT did.
Just, anything I could do that didn't involve me talking to anyone about what happened.
It was all so hectic. Juice was more closed off than ever. Opie was hiding stuff from me, I had no idea what was happening with my dad, Tara was almost murdered.
I'm getting my ink today. A reaper on my forearm. Happy pressed the needle to my arm while I was lost in thought.
I thought about Kip. The tattoo he could've got if he were still here.
"You okay? You seem out of it." Happy asked breaking my train thought. I faked a smile.
"Yeah. Never better."
