Chapter 36

Phoebes POV

"Liam, can I have a moment with Mrs. Willard?" I ask. "Sure babe. I'll be right outside when you're ready." He says and kisses my head. I get off the floor and sit in one of the leather chairs by her desk. "Mrs Willard, how do you know that I'm in love?" I ask her. "Well honey, it's simple. You were feeling uneasy before Liam touched you. It's like his hand had a healing power. You leaned into his hand signaling you like it. Phoebe, you're in love. But here's the best part, he's obviously in love with you too. When he was on the phone with me he was sobbing because he didn't know what to do. Ya know, I'm not supposed to be here this late. I told him to bring you in because I've never heard him be so upset. I was his moms best friend in high school and I have seen him upset many a time, never this bad. And he stayed, he held you as you spoke. He cried, and cried. Now I know your whole life you haven't ever experienced love, but you are now. You have to understand that. The pain, it's only a cover. You only wanted to feel pain because you don't like being vulnerable. You like your "bad" cover or whatever, but phoebe, you have a wonderful man who loves you so much. Embrace it. You were put in his life for a reason." She says. "You really know all this just from a few hours?" I inquire. "Yes. Of course I do. This wouldn't be my job if I didn't. Now, I want you to do something for me." She says to me. "What?" I ask. "Every time you want to feel pain I want you to walk to Liam and say you love him." Mrs Willard says. "Okay, I will." I say back. "I want you to also come to me every week okay? I'm going to help you." She adds. "Yes ma'am." I say and I go to walk out but she stops me. "And phoebe!" She screams and I turn back around. "You know, it's okay to be a little undignified sometimes." She says. I smile at her and walk out. "Hey babe, you ready?" Liam asks me. "Yes. I am. I love you li." I say. "I love you too pheebs." He says and we go on our way.
