**Trigger Warning: Self harm**
Please don't read in between the bold warnings if you feel like you will be triggered. The waitress was sat in her black motorized wheelchair with her legs at an awkward angle. She used her arms to adjust the position of her legs, the intense vibe of Lauren's wide eyed stare making her uncomfortable.
Camila and Normani immediately picked up on the tension between the raven haired girl and the waitress. Dinah's hand found Lauren's knee under the table, attempting to calm the seemingly frozen in place girl.
"Hi I—uh," the waitress started speaking, not sure how to approach the situation, "My name is Jade and I'll be taking care of you guys this morning. Can I start you off with anything to drink?" she paused, her eyes never leaving Lauren's.
Normani tentatively scanned the other four girls before speaking, "I'll take an orange juice."
"Me too," Dinah spoke up, her eyes searching worriedly between her best friend and the waitress.
Jade's eyes left Lauren's to write down the orders before she looked back up in Camila's direction, "Can I get you anything?"
Camila was beyond confused at the obvious connection the girl next to her and the waitress shared, "I'll just take a water, thanks," she said before all eyes turned to Lauren.
Lauren shut her eyes on the verge of a panic attack, unable to stand the sight of the disabled girl in front of her. This isn't real. This isn't happening. Jade's legs healed.
Jade exhaled deeply and spoke up after a few moments of silence, "I'll grab you an apple juice. It's still your favorite, right, Laur?"
At the sound of the nickname, Camila realized that the two girls shared a very deep connection.
Lauren opened her eyes as the shortened version of her name rolled smoothly off of the other girl's tongue like it had a million times before. She barely managed to nod before the waitress used the motorized controls on her wheelchair to sheer towards the kitchen.
The four girls were then left in an unbearably quiet staring match that seemed to last an eternity.
"Jade asked me to bring over the drinks..." Ally trailed off when she caught sight of Lauren's sick expression and the other girl's worried eyes. She quickly set the drinks down before speaking again, "Lauren? Are you okay?"
The words seemed to snap something within the green eyed girl and she quickly pushed the table, drinks and all, into the guts of Normani and Dinah who grunted upon its impact and lept over Camila, dashing towards the front of the restaurant.
"I'll take that as a no," Ally's eyes followed Lauren's figure as it disappeared through the black doors and into the afternoon sun.
Dinah quickly grabbed a crumpled twenty dollar bill from her pocket and pushed it into Ally's hand, "Keep the change," she spoke before rushing off in Lauren's direction, the other two girls right behind her.
Lauren was nowhere to be found.
"Fuck," Dinah cursed as the worry about her best friend's whereabouts took over every part of her body.
Camila slowly approached the Polynesian, "Dinah, what's going on? How does Lauren know Jade?"
Dinah ran her hands through her hair, an old nervous habit that she had picked up from Lauren, before getting in the car, urging the other two girls to follow. "Jade and Lauren dated for like over three years. They were inseparable. Honestly, I had no doubt that they were going to get married once we all graduated."
