Prologue

Christopher Pike and Grace Lumière.

They first met at Starfleet Academy, when he had started failing a class, his professor gave him the name of his top student for tutoring.

Grace Lumière.

Some people say "Love at first sight doesn't exist."

Christopher and Grace where not one of them, there was no denying that it was.

Her Smile.

His Eyes.

Her Laugh.

Stumbling over his words when he was nervous.

Her nose scrunching up when she is upset, laughing, smiling.

His loyalty and dedication for anything he believes in.

The way she sings or hums a song without a care in the world.

After graduating from Starfleet Academy they where put on the same starship, it really was like pieces of a puzzle falling into place.

It wasn't long after, they had begun dating, after a year Christopher asked the women he was sure to be the love of his life to marry him.

About two years later, still on the starship did Grace find out she was pregnant, Christopher was over the moon, yet also scared because they where still on the ship, so they decided that Grace would quit Starfleet and rise their child in a home on planet which she was happy to do, she always wanted to be a mother.

Grace's Father gave them her Grandfather's old home as a late wedding gift.

It was a beautiful castle like farm, it was rather old but that suited Grace perfectly, she and her Grandfather where close so naturally she was very much like him, such as they prefer old fashion things then new technology.

And with such a big house they would need some help with maintaining it so they hired staff, staff that became part of their family more then simple servants.
