Wow. I'm back. It's been ages but thanks to a nice message from @noradellll I decided to update.

She looked dead.

Well at least she would if her chest wasn't rising and falling slowly, the only indication that she was clinging to life. The emotion in the room was stifling, everyone in it had an undeniable connection to her. Sirius, fearing for his newly-found daughter's life, Arthur, knowing how devastated his children would be if they lost her, Carlisle, losing his adoptive daughter to whom he had come very close to, and finally Kai, who was barely keeping it together as he watched his mate in desperation.

As soon as Carlisle had walked through the door, he started to issue instructions on what we had to do. Lifting her up gently, a white bedsheet from a closet nearby was placed down on the table, and a tray  out with instruments and tools carefully laid on it and ready to use.

"Kai, I need you to come and hold her down, I need to extract the knife from her now." Though he spoke calmly, fear still soaked his words.

"How will you get it out?" Kai sked as he got into position, placing a warm hand on each of Anna's forearms.

"It needs to be extricated slowly and with a slight tilt upward and to the right. If I can do that, I will be able to stitch the entry wound up fairly easily." He knew it was a stretch that it would come out clean, its position amongst many vital organs was life walking through a minefield, one wrong step and everything could be lost. While waiting as Carlisle prepared himself, Kai thought on what he could do. There was a way he could fix this, he had never done it before though, and the risks of it going wrong were huge, even the side effects could last a lifetime, but if he had no other choice he would do it. After all, even though no one knew it and he doubted it himself, he was one of, if not the strongest, beings on earth.

"Alright, try not to look, but if she moves, stop her."

Carlisle gritted his teeth and wrapped his pale fingers around the hilt pf the blade. Slowly angling it to the right position, he asserts a small amount of pressure and begins to lift. At first it's stubborn and doesn't move, but after a second, it starts to slide. Feeling the pain begin to burn again, Anna lets out a distressed groan. Another drip of blood slid from the corner of her mouth.

"Carlisle," Sirius grits out, hardly able to watch what was happening in front of him, "she's in pain."

"I know, come over here." Sirius steps forward until he's beside the doctor who had temporarily stopped lifting. "Grab that syringe there, take off the cap and find a vein in her forearm." Doing as he says, he takes the syringe out and readies himself as Kai shows him the vein.

"Slowly push the plunger down." Sirius does as he says and soon the canister is empty.

"Good, that should start kicking in immediately, but I need to keep going. If we leave it in for too long, the worse it will get."

Drawing his eyes back to his task, he starts to pull again. Half the blade could now be seen, coated in crimson teardrops. The blade kept coming and coming, all the while they winced as Anna squirmed. What happened next sent everything into chaos. Just as the last five centimetres were being drawn out, Anna coughed from the built-up liquid in her throat. This jerked her body violently and dislodged the blade in the wrong direction. Caught in mid-pull, Carlisle had no choice but to watch as the knife came out, and with it a waterfall of blood.

"Fuck! What do we do?" Sirius shouts.

"Remain calm, all of you!" Carlisle demands.

Kai, however, freezes, he knows what he must do. The effects he can deal with later but right now all he can focus on is how to save his mate. Pushing the others from his mates side, he readies his hands and prepares. Even now as Carlisle looked on, he could tell that nothing was better for Anna right now than the powerful man that stood over her, one hand covering the wound in her torso and one over her heart. With eyes squeezed shut and heart thundering, he begins to let his energy loose, blinding light illuminating the room from his hands. Intricate patterns all along his body begin to from. Seemingly made from a white fire, swirls and lines wove themselves across his exposed skin. Then they formed on his hands and travelled through the bond to the beautiful female beneath him. The same patterns lit up on her as well, stunning and striking. Their eyes were then drawn to the exposed wound, and they filled with fascination as the flesh began knitting together, stemming the flow of blood.

"My God..." Arthur mumbles, looking on in awe. Those who watched had no doubt in their mind that they were witnessing the most beautiful thing in the universe. Nothing purer than this existed, that they could be sure of. It was just a feeling that crept through them as they stood, almost feeling too unworthy to be there.

Kai's P.O.V

It was almost done, I could feel it equalling, half in her and half in me. Though I had grown up fearing this, fearing the enormity of the choice and what it meant, looking down at my mate while giving her half of who I was, I could never regret it. My power ebbed and died down, the light calming to a peaceful glow. It would stay like that forever. The markings that had appeared now linked us together and the glow on both out bodies will eternally light up the dark, except... but I wouldn't think about that now, it wasn't the time.

"I need to move her, get her cleaned up." The others stood, still struck with what they just saw. I knew now that nothing would ever be the same, this had changed everything. Picking her up, I walked out of the kitchen. I had to get her back to the safe house before someone tried to track the power radiating from us both. I looked down at my mate, her eyes were still closed, it would be a waiting game until she woke, but at least she was out of danger. I waited for Carlisle, Sirius and Arthur to follow me out. When they did I turned to give them my instructions.

"We need to get her back to Grimmauld Place. Even though your apparation is faster, it's too rough for her right now. When you get back, get a bed made up. I won't be too long behind you. Also, make sure that no one comes too close to us." They frowned in confusion but didn't dare question me. I'm sure I looked scary as hell right now.

"How will you be getting there?" Carlisle asked.

"I'll fly."

Before anyone could utter another word, great white wings unfurled from his heavily muscled back, and powerful legs pushed off from the ground, propelling them into the atmosphere.

I'll be back soon. But thanks guys for sticking with me.
