Sans took over making dinner that night. He quickly opened the safe of non human food to make a dinner Aliza could eat. Papyrus was cheerfully talking with the brunette, Flowey on her shoulder, pulling out some of his old clothes.

His daughter.

The skeleton paused, glancing in the living room. The two were laughing as they talked. Sans gulped, turning back to the meal.

He hadn't known.

Sure, the word 'baby' might've been thrown around a few times- mostly by Toriel and Papyrus. Sans and Frisk had discussed it a bit. But he had never thought...

He quickly shook his head to clear his mind.

His daughter needed food.

And he was going to be the best father he could be.

Until a room could be found or made for Aliza, she would sleep on the couch.

"Are you sure?" Sans asked. "Papyrus or me can be on the couch."

"I'll be fine here."

The skeleton sighed. He knelt down and tugged on the blanket. "You warm enough?"

Aliza nodded. "Uh huh."

"Good. If you need anything, come to me, okay?"

"Okay."

Sans nodded, unsure what to do. Frisk would've known what to do, he was sure of it. Aliza looked around, the silence awkward.

Then she hugged him. Sans froze before hugging back.

"Night Dad."

"Night kid."

-_-

The house was quiet in the night. Everyone was asleep, including Aliza.

But now, she groaned in her sleep. Her features grew tight in fear. She started to sweat.

Nobody heard the evil chuckle.

"YES, LITTLE HELLSPAWN. DREAM OF YOUR MOTHER'S MURDER AT YOUR HANDS."

"ChArA."

The demon turned to a patch of darkness. Two hands with holes in the palms were clear, as well as a skull with two cracks. Usually, he was grinning.

Not tonight.

Instead, his mouth was firmly shut in a grimace of anger.

"DOCTOR WD GASTER. WHAT A SURPRISE." The demon's tone was sickeningly sweet. "COME TO SEE THE NEW MEMBER OF THE FAMILY?"

"Go AwAy. ShE dOeS nOt NeEd ThIs."

Chara smirked. "FINE. BUT I'LL BE BACK."

There was the hiss of smoke, and then Chara was gone. Gaster glared at her spot, before Aliza whimpered. Anger was replaced by concern.

He rested his hand on her forehead. Slowly, she relaxed. A pleasant smile formed on her face. Gaster pulled the blanket up more, his smile returning.
