After the night of bloodshed was over, and the great of day rose up to meet the battlefields, Marcus walked out of the Town Hall. He saw several villagers stare at him with nervous eyes, and kids scream and run in their houses. His eyes sank into a sad abyss.
"Sir," Asked Thylrrim, "What shall we do now?"
"I guess we will see if anyone will join the army, then if we can, have them join." Responded Marcus.
They walked down to the city square, and Marcus walked up the heightened floor and called out for the people to join. They did.
"People!! Hopefully we can reach a compromise with the situation," Yelled Marcus, " The killings weren't meant to happen, but they did fight first. Look, if this seems reasonable. You could join us peacefully and quietly, while some of you could even join the army. There is good pay and nice food if you join!!"
The townspeople looked scared, for they didn't want to poke at the beast which was the army. But a few men and women walked up for recruitment,
"Good, good."
He lead the people into the Town Hall, as Thylrrim walked down to calm the people and to continue their normal lives. When they reached into the Hall, they found Gottfried there, right on time.
"Gottfried, we got recruits." Stated Marcus, as he waved his hand towards the recruits way.
Gottfried smiled and clapped his hands together. The purple mist formed, scaring some of the recruits that didn't know what Conjuring was, Gottfried soon made a few fine swords, and axes with armor to follow suit. The new recruits equipped the good equipment and stared at Gottfried with confused eyes.
"Magic, my friends." Said Gottfried as Marcus lead the new recruits to the training grounds.
After he left the recruits with Delina and the late Thylrrim, he went out and sent a few soldiers to stay here and guard the city, he gave some horses from the city stables to be able to gallop over towards his army as a scout. Afterwards they soon left the village to continue the journey of revenge. But, somehow. He couldn't shake the feeling of doubt, regret, and sadness. He tried his best to shake of this feeling of knives in his chest and the feeling of hammers on his head. But it was excruciating.
While they were walking out, he couldn't find Alcred with them. He told the army to hold outside the gates as he looks. He walked back in the town hall and went towards his designated room at the time. When he opened the door, he saw Alcred there still sleeping, with his head getting clearer.
"Wake up Alcred," Boomed Marcus, which made Alcred fall out of his bed in surprise, "Were leaving the city."
"Whoa!! Ok, I'm getting up.." Replied Alcred as he groggily stumbled into his open closet."
Marcus went out towards the army to wait for Alcred, after around two minutes he saw Alcred march out to meet him. They continued on towards his former capitol to scout out the area.
They reached there after a measly stroll turned into a painful chore to finish by the distance. They got there with everyone wide eyed and surprised.
The Capital was destroyed, there was nothing to recover... Just a few walls and some broken down houses. This place was as quiet as a funeral, since that what it was in Marcus's eyes. His home, his safe house. Gone, destroyed. However... This didn't fuel his strive for revenge.... No.... This depressed him greatly. His men found him huddled against a wall, head and eyes down on the burnt grass that now became a blank canvas of dirt. All the beauty stripped from its amazing sheet. He... Didn't have the strive to continue. He could sit here and never move again."Sir.. We got to move towards their castles. Lets repay what they have done here!" Yelled Thylrrim.
"No... You can. Gottfried will lead you." Replied Marcus
The pain in Marcus's chest and head was back, and worse than ever. He could barley see straight.... His conscience was loosing grip of itself. He soon collapsed onto the floor, knocked out.
