@meggy012I haven't written Ashton in such a long time!
Ashton:
"You can do this Y/N. They won't see you any differently. Well, other than gayer but that's the point," you gripped the counter tightly as you stared at your reflection in the mirror. You were trying to motivate yourself to tell the boys your biggest secret. Something that you hadn't told anyone before, that you were a lesbian. You liked girls in every sense of the word."Y/N! WHERE'D YA GO?" Ashton yelled from the living room where he and the boys were all sitting. You had called them all in there for a meeting and then left, because you were beginning to panic. You didn't even think that any of them would be mad, there was just a natural uneasiness that made you want to keep your emotions bottled away. Tucked neatly back in the coat closet, propped up next to your old rain boots. Nobody would see them there, hidden away, you could pretend that they didn't exist and-
No.
No, you were sick of pretending. Sick of denying who you really were and really felt like in fear of what others would think. You were ready to put yourself out there, to rip away your carefully constructed facade and reveal to everyone that you weren't straight. You were finally happy with your sexuality and what it meant, you wanted to be able to show that, and to be happy. No more pretending to like guys, or allowing yourself to be roped into useless dates. It all stopped there.
Instead of yelling back to answer his question, you bolted down the stairs. No more pep talk needed, you were ready. You walked right into the living room and stood confidently in front of the couch of boys.
"Heyyyyy Y/N!" Michael greeted you.
"Hello Michael." You allowed yourself a quick laugh at his position. He was laying over the top of the other threes' laps. Sprawled out with one leg dangling over Calum's knees. Luke was in the middle, he looked a little smushed as his shoulders were slightly inverted and he had to rest his arms outward on top of Michael. He was studying you, clearly trying to figure out what was going on.
Calum was the opposite. He looked completely relaxed, leaning into the corner of the couch and sighing out of contentment. You couldn't blame him. He was probably warm and comfy there.
But it was Ashton's gaze you paid the most attention to, he was staring at you with an intensity that told you that he was really paying attention and that he knew you wanted to say something important.
"So why'd you assemble us here today?" Luke asked, his elbows dug into Michael's stomach, making him squirm uncomfortably.
You took in a deep breath and nodded, "I have something important to say, and it's really hard for me to say out loud, and I wanted to tell you guys first because I know you won't judge."
"Pshhhh we don't have any room to judge," Calum scoffed, "unless you like killed someone or something, I haven't done that yet and I can confidently say it's wrong."
"Holdup," Michael kicked him lightly, "yet?!"
"Please continue Y/N," Ashton cut them both off.
Eight eyes settled on you and for a moment you faltered. Your mouth opened but no sounds came out.
But then you remembered what you had felt only minutes before. How freeing it was to even imagine telling them.
"I'malesbian," you blurted, releasing tension caught in your shoulders as soon as it was over. You were free! You had done it!
"You're a what? You were talking too fast," Luke frowned, leaning in a little to hear you better.
"I said that I'm a lesbian," it was so much easier to say it the second time. The sentence was broken in, no longer catching against the walls of your throat and making you blister.
"Oh," Calum shrugged, "yeah that makes sense."
You laughed again, even as Ashton stood up and walked to you. He let his actions speak as he pulled you into a tight hug. You gladly reciprocated.
"I'm so proud of you for telling us," he did sound proud too, and that made you feel some pride in yourself as well.
"It was time time to," you amended, you had gone far too long in denial. It was time to live your life.
"Love is love," Calum smiled as he joined in on the hug.
"Is love. Is love. Is love," Michael added as he got into the hug as well.
"Is love, is love," Luke finished as you felt two more arms sneak around.
You all said the last bit together, "and love can't be wrong."
