MY SUMMER HAS STARTED HALLELUJAH! (All you sinners stand up)

If you can't celebrate this momentous occasion with me bc your break didn't start today, then we'll just all have to be happy that it's Friday and we've survived another week. I'm going to quote my dear mother as I think her eloquent words really sum up the complex emotions surrounding the last weekday, *ahem* "IT'S FRIDAY BITCHESSSS!"

Ashton:
You were childhood friends with none other than Ashton Irwin. He was your giggly little kangaroo growing up, and it was surreal to see him grow and develop into the amazing musician he became. You went from messing around with your best friend on his drum kit to watching him play sold out stadiums and tour the world. It happened slowly and then all at once, you were suddenly sharing your giggly kangaroo, who wasn't so little anymore, with millions of other people.

You grew somewhat jealous of it all, especially as Ashton began to drift away from you, riding on the wave of his fame further and further out to sea. You hadn't seen him properly or hung out with him in a few years, back when he wasn't the tallest member of 5SOS and the band hadn't really hit it big. You looked back on the days of hanging out with Ashton, and his friends fondly. You grew to love those four dorks like they were your own flesh and blood. Now you were lucky if one of them texted you once a month.

But it was fine. Whatever. You were absolutely amazing and didn't miss them at all. Nope. In other words, you were totally in denial.

Until things took an interesting twist when Luke texted you. Now that in and of itself wasn't completely shocking as you still did very rarely speak to him, it was more like the content of the text that made you gasp.

Luke:
Hey Y/N. Ashton's birthday is coming up and the guys and I were wondering if you wanted to come and see him as like a surprise.

You blinked a few times before rereading the text again and again. They wanted you? You barely knew Ashton anymore as much as you hated to admit it.

Y/N:
Me?

Okay that was kind of a stupid reply but you were just too shocked to properly answer otherwise.

Luke:
Yeah, he still talks about you a lot and how he should call. But then he gets sucked into something and forgets :-/

Wow. Ashton missed you just like you missed him! Your heart soared as you thought fondly back on your childhood memories with him.

Y/N:
Where's the party?

...

Two weeks later a black SUV rolled into your driveway, there to pick you up and take you to the bar Ashton's birthday party was being held. It wasn't a surprise but you were.

You straightened your flannel and stepped outside. You locked your door and walked to the backseat of the SUV. Pulling open the door, you were surprised to see it already occupied by Michael, grinning at you. You nearly did a double take. You knew what he looked like, but after not seeing him in person for years it was still shocking to see the immense change time had brought about. The stubble was definitely new, but his smile was the same.

"Y/N! It's been too long!" He held his arms out for a hug and you just went with it despite being rather shocked. You didn't know that the boys would be the one's picking you up.

"Wow Michael! It's so good to see you," you said sincerely, before pulling away.

He scooted over so that you could have the seat. You thanked him and slid in.

"Y/N!" Luke was the one driving and your eyes visibly widened at his long hair, and his jawline?! What happened to the lanky boy who loved penguins? Who allowed this to happen.
