It's saturday, and the day of my grandfather's death. I look at the calendar on my wall. A big red circle around a date.
The date of today.
Saturday is actually a Go-to-the-playground day, and because I and Nao are the oldest, we are supposed to accompany the kids.
But not today. Because days like today are very imortant for our likes. It reminds us o the family we never had.
Today is a very grave day for me, so I always ware black things.I buttoned the last button of my blouse and look at my reflection of the mirror.
I sighed and opened the door to leave.
Okay, first I'll go to the florist to buy some flowers...
I opened the front door.
Nao, Yuta, and Akito saw me off.
I walked down the street until I arrived at the flower shop.
"Welcome...!"
The florist greeted me, I slowly nod back and looked at the flowers around me.
I spotted a special kind of flowers, and my eyes sparkled.
Grandfather loved these very much. I bet he still does.
I reached out my hand, but my arm is too short.
I stood tiptoe, hoping it would get a little better.
"May I...?"
Just as I'm almost there, another hand appears over my reched hand.
I whirled around, to see an unexpeted face.
The man looks also surprised to see me.
"Tachibana...?"
Mr. Kogami's eyes widen at my sight, but he quickly puts on a kind smile.
"Here."
He hands me the flowers I couldn't reach.
I quickly bowed and took the flowers from his hands.
"T-thank you very much, sir. I you'll excuse me now.."
I bowed once again, and walked towards the cash register. I waited for the florist, and Mr. Kogami followed me.
"Um, hey. Tachibana..."
I nervously look at his face behind me.
"I..wanted to apologize to you. So... I'm very sorry."
It took me by surprise when Mr. Kogami bows to me.
Suddenly getting what he means, I quickly shook my hands.
"Uh.. Sensei, please raise your head.."
I tried to tell him that it's alright, but he cuts in, raising his head again.
"I should have known, that you weren't the culprit. I'm very sorry."
I furrowed my brows, thinking about the day of my punishment.
I couldn't hide my curiosity, and replied.
"Oh, so that is why you never came.."
He nods, seeming desperately sorry.
I wanted to say 'It's all right.", but the florist came back.
"Miss?"
I hastily brought the flowers to him, and asked if he could make a bouquet out of them.
I turned my head to Mr. Kogami and mouthed the words 'Thank-you' wholeheartedly.
He sighs genuinely out of relief.
I accepted the beautiful bouquet and payed.
With that, the two of us left the shop.
I suddenly notice the flowers in his hands.
"Oh, these are nice flowers sensei. Are you going to give them somebody?"
He looks startled and hides the flowers behind his back.
"N-no, these are..actually...!"
He struggles to find the right words.
Suddenly it came to me.
"Are you going to give this your girlfriend..?"
He blushes deep red, while shaking his head furiously.
"You are awfully honest and talk active right now, you know?"
I only huffed and said honestly, my voice calm.
"Hmpf, don't be silly. I've been always talk active."
He looks even more furious, but I don't let it get me and kept walking.
So it is for his girlfriend, huh...
Slightly disappointed, I hung my head a little.
Mr. Kogami suddenly stopped, and covered his mouth with his hand blushing.
"Well..."
