No way I'm falling to my death! I reached over the ledge and felt my hand grip a piece of the broken stone. Swinging I pulled myself up and breath a sigh of relief. "Oh look she's ok!" starring in front of me was indeed a talking candelabra. "Your real." I muttered starring at it's confused face.
"Of course I'm real! Sheesh, do you think this girl hit her head as well?" he muttered leaning over to a very cross looking clock. He scoffed looking back at me.
After pulling myself away from the edge I just sat there is awe. Thanks to the help of magic mirror I knew the Beast was real, but in my hunt for the Beast I really didn't think about the talking furniture.
But I did also apologize to the front door. "Please boys it's probably been a long day for the poor girl, let her at least have some tea. Go on Chris."
I jumped watching a tea cup slide over to me. "We didn't know what you liked, so we gave you peach." It whispered as I picked up the cup gingerly.
Knowing these were real people makes me a little wary, "Are you sure this is alright?" I asked the cup as it laughed. "Yep everything will be fine! You go ahead have a sip!" I carefully brought it up to my lips.
He giggled as I took a quick sip, I smiled as it began to hop around. In result sloshing the tea everywhere. "Chris! Please behave in front of our guest." my eyes shifted over to a tea pot smiling up at me.
"Sorry for the spill Dear, he has a tendency to be very excited around new people." I starred as she continued to scold the tea cup. I couldn't help but laugh at the scene that was unfolding before me.
As this was happening I hear a piercing roar from the top of the stair well. Standing up I headed over to where the sound was projecting from. Suddenly I felt the weight under me shift once again.
But it wasn't the floor this time, looking below me was the clock. "That is where the master is and he doesn't take kindly to guests that barge in unannounced." my eyes widened at the mere thought of being attacked.
The thought never accorded to me until then, the prince was a large creature that had the potential due to his strength to end my life. But the Beast seemed so kind in the book, he wouldn't hurt me right?
I decided not to take a change I headed back down to the fire place. Hearing the scuffs and clicking noises I knew that the objects were following me.
"So dearie, what is a nice girl like you doing around these parts?" the tea pot asked, "I heard about a castle when I was very young and I decided when I grew older I would go search it out. " my grip on my bag tightened thinking about the book within.
"I see," a feather duster said, I jumped a bit as it came over. "What is you name my dear?" confused I turned to the candelabra. "Allegra." i said quietly still kind of in shock. "And what are yours?"
They looked at each other and smiled, "I am Lucas, " the candelabra bowed, "And this lovely feather duster is my darling Petunia,"he twirled the duster as the clock rolled its eyes, "Clarksworth." it muttered rather hotly. "You've already met my son Chris, but I am Mrs. Polly."
The tea pot bowed slightly, "I see it is a pleasure to meet you all, I'm sorry about coming in so suddenly. I was escaping some rather cruel creatures." I muttered rubbing my forearm.
"It's alright I guess, but we should probably tell the master that she is here." Clarksworth stated scurrying off, i pouted as i watched the clock climb the stairs with ease.
It almost seemed like the castle wanted him to processed, hm I guess that's the reason that the floor suddenly gave way in the first place. Turning back to the teapot I fiddled with my dress.
"I'm sorry to intrude, if you need me to leave I have a room back at the inn. I could leave now and still make it back before dark." "No please stay!" They shouted pulling me to the floor.
I nodded remaining in my place, suddenly a roar rang through my ears. "Where is she!" The voice bellowed, standing I clutched my bag I fled.
No, not to the door, but to the stair well. Without a second thought I rushed up the stair hearing the click of my boots colliding with the tile. Halfway the stairs broke off once again, leaving me stranded.
"I am here, what do you wish to ask me?" My voice shaking with every syllable. Waiting my eyes widened as a figure came into the light. The Beast.
My mouth went dry, frightened I froze my eyes trailing him. I have dreamed of this moment for so long, but I never thought of how frighting it would have been.
The stairs connected as he silently made his way towards me. Within seconds the Beast stood before me towering over my shorter stature. His eyes pierced through mine as we stood face to face.
"Who are you?" His voice low and angered. Looking at his face I could clearly see his piercing sea blue eyes, if I starred any longer I fear I might be lost in them.
Thinking about the book I would have to say that the picture was very accurate. Stuttering I kept my gaze, "I am Allegra Bellerose, I am sorry for intruding."
He growled continuing down the stairs, "Stay if you please, I couldn't care less." Letting out a breath I slumped down resting on the stairs. Well, that could've gone better.
