I sat across the Beast, the many platters of food separated our seats. As he continued to chew my eyes darted from the multiple pates. My mind wandered every which way, pondering on what was really safe to eat.
Bitting my lip my sight drifted up to the Beast, he was rather quiet since we talked. I didn't know if i had struck a nerve or not, but from his facial features i would assume i had.
I couldn't blame him for being angry, she broke his heart and i seemed to re puncture the wound. But i could understand where she was coming from, if i didn't love someone I couldn't lie to their face about it.
Besides the curse would know if her feelings where genuine or not. If not the enchantress wasn't thinking that far ahead. Sipping my water i closed my eyes, all this thinking was giving me a rather large headache.
I wanted to tell him, but i don't think he would want to hear what how happy my grandmother was without him. I had already cracked his heart, i don't want to break it fully in two.
Sighing a low growling caught me off guard, looking up i met eyes with the Beast. "Is everything alright?" I ask, he shakes his head. "Who are you?" I tilted my head confused.
"What do you mean, I told you my name." Abruptly he stood and walked over to me. "That's not what I meant, you found my castle. You knew my story, and you had not screamed once while your visit here."
"Yes i knew about your castle, is that such a bad thing? Do you wish that i leave?" He shook his head, "I didn't say that, i am just asking your intentions." Gapping i stood to meet his height.
"Do you think my intentions are bad? Do you think they are deadly to you? Is my wish to stay here such a nuisance to you?" He growled stepping forward.
"I said no such thing, you are just a little past normal."scowling i stepped forward. "Well for your information you are not so normal yourself are you? You sit in this old castle feeling bad for yourself. What are you so afraid of?"
"What I'm afraid of? You should be more afraid then anything! I am a monster for goodness sakes! I could kill you at any second, yet you refuse to move even one single inch."
I knitted my eyebrows, "Do you wish for me to scream? Do you wish for me to be afraid of you? I could do that if you please, but i thought you might prefer me not be as frightened as some of the others!"
"Some of the others? You talk like you know everything! This is what i am talking about, you seem to have everything all figured out. Why is that? How come it seems that you know every little thing that has happened within these castle walls!"
I scoffed, "My knowledge of your story far surpasses my knowledge of the castle. Before this day i knew practically nothing, i just happened the read a book about is the village not far from here." He raised his eyebrow.
"The village? So you've been to that blasted place." "Blasted place?! How dare you speak about your own kingdom in such a manner. This is why you were turned into the Beast in the first place!"
Roaring i felt my body slam into the wall, "You know nothing about my kingdom, i ruled it how i wanted!" Wincing in pain i met his eyes once more.
"Just because you ran it your way doesn't mean it was the right way. Besides i never thought you would hurt me in such a manner, i guess i was wrong." His paws retreated from my shoulders, backing away from me.
Studying them he looked at them with fear, "I'm so sorry, i didn't mean to do that." His voice hurt as i walked forward he retreated from my touch.
"I could have killed you, then her words would have no meaning." With those words he ran from the room. With the stunned looks from the workers and myself following him.
