The Present Time

[Kathleene's Monologue]
The past was a still ocean, yet the present is a vortex. Then everything became a drastic change. A whirlpool now it has become, spinning, and roaring uncontrollably. It is evolution. Between death and death, I am still the living dead. But in another world. In a another life. An immortal yet a much powerful immortal have I become. The once frozen corpse, now coming back to the present.

Years passed. I'm still rotten. Frozen. Unmovable. Sounds of nature awoke me. And suddenly, my eyes opened. And I realized, I've been asleep for the past 32 years. It's extraordinary how immortals could be asleep for many years. On how they trick time. Or even stop it for a bit. But what's important to me at this very moment was to get out of the crypt.

First, I moved my legs. The soil was already stiffened, actually. Boy, the "nap" really did took longer. I kicked. And kicked. Then air came gushing in. A sensation of relief I felt. Ahhh. What a wonderful afterlife.

I reached out my arms, as far as I could do. Elongating them with all my immortal strength. Then a sudden push, my hand flew outwards. I shook it in order to let go of all the heaviness of the earth, and also feel the strange atmosphere. I bopped almost every part of my body. Until I finally got out of the grave. My redemption bed. And now I took my first step into the present, resurrected.

We are a kind of vampires that don't die of sunlight, although prolonging exposure to it burns. Which is kinda interesting ability of our kind. So going out from the soil pit wasn't hard for me.

The graveyard was already filled with lots of tombstones. Tall, green grasses surrounded the whole area, along with beautiful trees. The whole place has been beautified, perfect for my rebirth. I was glad nobody noticed the grave I laid. It was such a miracle.

I walked my way to the gates -the exit of my past, and now is the entrance to my present. There is something new at the gates. On top of the gate is a wide iron plate, and engraved in the plate is the name "Libertine Cemetery. Home For The Deceased", with an engraved decorations that looked like flowers and vines.

But anyways, all I could ever do is to feel welcomed by my new world.
