The buildings have become larger than ever. And they increased in number. The cars changed in their forms and shapes. And people evolved so much from time to time. They changed the way on how they dress, on how they act, and how they communicate. Now they use small devices that is placed closer to the ears, used for communicating people whether far or not. And those are called cellphones.

Televisions in the past where different. They used to be big and bulky and vague in screen color, but in the present, they have now become flat and light and picture quality have been much more defined.

Cities have become much more populated. Lots of posters and billboards being posted here and there.

It seems that technology really has evolved itself and the humanity. People are becoming engaged to it. And has become so smart to use one, indeed.

Everything has changed.

Libertine. The town I knew before, is now a big one. New neighbors come in and out. Big houses built, and small houses being teared down.
And Libertine High is still Libertine High. I guess people here are now new.

Maybe new teachers.
Maybe new facilities.
New rules.
New technology.
And same old Kathleene.

I want to study, again. I want to return to my old life, where I was still that misfit highschool student back in 1985. But now, I am not going back to the past. I will not going to be a misfit again. I'm a changed woman. And there's no turning back.

Although lucky enough to get a second chance in the present, my ultimate priorities are to get a job, earn money so that I can use it for the highschool enrollment and fees, and my ultimate goal, graduate highschool in Libertine High and with a diploma in my parents' arms.

Not far from Libertine High, I decided to apply as a waitress at a diner. Fred's Diner, where they play old classic hits from the 50s until the 60s, to be exact.
Fortunately, a few weeks later, I was hired.

The world outside me has already changed.

So I thought if I could also bring a change in me, since nobody in the present knew everything about me at all.

I changed my full name. From Kathleene Kristavus to Sonia Marcus.

My red hair that used to be in a retro updo, I turned it down. It used to be so long, so I trimmed it a little bit.

My first nights at Fred's were easy going. Until there was one night when I heard three teenage boys, probably still at highschool with age range of 17-19, talk about strange things happening in Libertine.

"There was one night, when my brother went to the Sunstone Festival where, ya know, all Libertine folks gather and celebrate, he saw a couple making out.....in the fountain!" The boy said.

"Holy crap! Haha haha!" The other one laughed.

"Hey Jeremy, what about what happened to your brother way back 1985?" The first boy asked, sarcastically to the third boy.

"Yeah. What happened there, in the woods,..that was hella fucked up man," said the second boy.

"What the fuck do you want?" Jeremy asked, looking pissed.

"Come on, don't be such a baby," said the first boy. "Haven't you alre-"

He was stopped by this Jeremy. "Doesn't matter,"

I wonder what they meant about the strange thing that happened in 1985. And in the woods.

The two other boys just stared at him, waiting for him if he can start his story.

"My brother's dead, Mike. For God's sake," replied Jeremy. "He was killed in the woods, you know that shit."

"But not the details," Mike replied. "Come on, this is Libertine. All things go, just let it out."

He paused for a moment, then continued. "His best friend was the one who saw him get killed. My brother's throat was slit by some kind of creature," Jeremy added. "But unusual kind of creature, because it used its long, sharp nails."

"Kinda creepy, huh?" The second boy said, that turns out to be named Tyler.

"Fuck this shit, I'm outta here." Those were Jeremy's last statement to his jock friends, before walking out from the diner.

"Hey! Jeremy Wilson! You haven't finished your smoothie yet!" Mike said.

I knew what Jeremy was talking about.

I thought everything in the past was already over. Already have been erased. But it wasn't.
