Prologue

Cassidy's Pov

Abandon, betrayal, isolated. What do all these words have in common? It describes my life.

Growing up as a child was pretty rough for me. I've suffered from cancer twice when I was three years old. Kids in my old school use to tease me all the time because I looked and acted differently from the other girls.

My father left my mother and me after he discovered that I had cancer. Since then it's always been me and my mom. Well, mostly it's just me. My mom works every single day to pay off all the bills and stuff, leaving me alone until she came back.

Later on, my mom soon found out that I was getting bullied by my classmates, so she hired a professional teacher to homeschool me. As I got older my mom got more strict, constantly forcing me to act more like a woman.

But since I barely ever leave the house, or have any visitors, what's the point of even knowing these skills.

Every single day is always the exact same routine. I wake up, eat breakfast, attend class, eat lunch, finish my homework, eat dinner, and go to bed.

Since my mom is barely around to take care of me, I consider my teacher Amelia, a second mom.
