I sit patiently on a chair waiting for our food to arrive. Across the table is Jayden, twiddling with his fingers. Which I find very entertaining.

It's been awhile since we hung out together. Like just the two of us. It's just been so crazy lately with the whole relationship drama.

I'm so relieved right now to just relax with one of my closest friends in a drama free zone.

" I'm really glad that we could hang out tonight," Jayden smiles. I miss his smile so much.

" Same here," I reply.

" There's something I need to ask you." He says.

Oh no, this can't be good.

I force a smile. " What is it?"

" I was just wondering if you would. You would. You would." He continuously says, shaking me awake.

I shoot out of my bed, landing on the cold hard floor.

Ow, I say in my head as I pick myself up. I rub the right half of my face, trying to keep my balance.

" Finally you're awake. Do you always scream in your sleep?" Zach asks.

I groan, slapping him on the arm. " I was screaming?"

" Yeah, how else am I awake?"

" Probably because I had this weird a** dream,"

" Do you want to talk about it over breakfast?" He asks.

" Nah, I'm good. But I'll accept the breakfast offer." I chuckle.

Zach laughs along as he hands me a stack of pancakes. He takes a seat next to me on the bed and chucks down the remaining pancakes on his plate. His mouth is entirely full with syrup dripping from his lips.

I honestly don't understand why girls find this attractive. But he's family. Speaking of family, I still haven't discovered what my mom meant by saying he's my own family left.

Did something happen to Dad? That still doesn't make any sense. Even if something did happen to him, I still have Mom. Or at least I think I do.

" Are you gonna eat?" Zach snaps me out of my thoughts.

" Um," I say as I look at my plate. " Maybe later."

" What's going on?" He asks me.

" Nothing," I frown.

He sighs. " Cassidy, I just arrived here. Do you really want to start out with lies?"

" It's not considered lying if I don't want to talk about it."

He rolls his eyes. " Just tell me weirdo,"

" Not with that attitude," I stick my tongue out.

" I guess I have no other choice but to bring out the tickle monster," He smirks.

" What?" I say before I burst out laughing in tears. " Okay, okay, I'll talk. Just never do that again."
