I can't believe it. Why would Gilmher write me this? Does he have feelings for me or am I just being paranoid? I thought he likes Gessica or practically any other girl. Ugh! My brain feels like it's melting.

What am I going to do? Should I even tell Jayden about this? For one thing, Jayden can be a bit overprotective sometimes. Either he'll beat the sh*t out of me or his brother.

Maybe it's for the best if I just kept this to myself. But at the same time, the stress is killing me.

" Zach!" I call since he is the first person I thought of.

The door swings open causing my spine to shrivel up.

" I'm here," Zach says, entering my room with a friend by his side. That isn't a girl.

" Who's your friend?" I ask.

" This is my friend Corbyn. Corbyn this is my little sister."

I hate the way Zach introduced me. Seriously, little sister? I mean it's true but it just gives me a weird image.

" Nice to meet you," Corbyn says, sticking his hand out for me to shake.

I take his hand and politely shake it. " How long have you two known each other?"

" Since grade school. I actually just recently graduated." Corbyn says.

" Oh, congratulations. So you're a year older than Zach?"

" Yup," They both say, ending in laughter.

" So why'd you call me up here?" Zach asks.

" Oh...um." I mumble as I look over at Corbyn. " Nevermind, I'll tell you later. So how long are you visiting?" I turn to Corbyn.

He shrugs. " I don't know. I'll probably crash here for a few weeks."

Did he just say here?

" Oh...yeah. I forget to ask if Corbyn can stay here for a couple of weeks. Whoops. Can he?"

I laugh. " Yeah...sure." He seems like a nice kid.

" Thanks sis," He smiles as the both them exit my room.

I sigh. That didn't work. I look over at my desk that's filled with piles of homework. Damn. Now that I think about it, when was the last time I went to school?

I clumsily walk over and begin my homework. An hour in and I already feel dead. At least I'm almost done, just one more subject to go. Yay. I pick up my pencil and resume on.

Suddenly, a figure appears at the corner of my eye. I look up only to be scared by Amelia.

" Are you serious?" I frown.

" Sorry kid, it's been awhile since I've scared the sh*t out of you." She laughs as she helps me up. Amelia just cussed in front of me, something is up.

" So what's up?" I ask, shaking the dust off me.

" Oh...nothing. Just came in to check on you."

" Any reason?"

" Do I really need a reason to communicate with one of my students?" Her voice cracks.

Voice crack? Cussing? She's hiding something.

" If there's something going on you know you can tell me right?" I encourage her to talk.

" I know. I just don't wanna see you down."

" I'm perfectly fine. Just tell me." I say.

" On second thought I have to-"

" Amelia!" I cut her off. " Just tell me!"

" Your mom got arrested." She says softly.

My jaw drops. She can't be serious. My mom got arrested? What? How? When? Why?

" WHAT!?!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

" I'm sorry sweetie." Amelia says, wrapping her arms around me.

" What did she do?" I dare to ask.

" Your mother felt bashful about hurting your feelings so she went out for a drink and got wasted." Amelia starts.

" That still doesn't explain anything."

" Well you see, after your mother got drunk, she decided to drive home alone. I didn't know this at the time. But if I did, I would've drove her. I swear."

" How long is she gonna be locked up?" I try to hold my tears in.

" For at least six months. I'm really sorry Cassidy. We can visit her whenever you want. Just name a day."

I can't believe what I'm hearing. Ugh...why? This is all my fault. If I didn't freak out and run away, this would've never happened. Ugh, what's wrong with me!

" Well...um. Thanks for telling me. I know it must've been hard to say."

" No problem. I'll just give you some space now. Don't worry about Zach and Corbyn, I'll take care of them." Amelia smiles, shutting the door behind her.

I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I feel like such an idiot.

" UGH!" I scream into my pillow. My tantrum gets interrupted when my phone dings. Ugh, what now?
