chapter 5/ Newlywed house

(Hongki’s POV)

“Actually… Jiyoung… I like you” My words came out before I could think about it. “But… if you said this earlier or accepted me when I confessed… then this could’ve worked out…” She looked at me blankly. “I’m… marrying someone soon”. She was shock.

“W-what?” She looked at me confused. “You never told about this Hongki oppa…”

“Sorry… “I tried apologising. I felt bad at that moment. We kept silent for a few minutes.

“With who?” She asked breaking the silence.

“You’ve met her once, Lee Jieun” I answered. “We’re not going to let the school know yet or our friends, that’s why I didn’t tell you, I’m truly sorry”

“Well… I have nothing to say” she forced out a smile.

“You’re nice, pretty, smart, you’ll be able to find a guy that’s better me… if this problem didn’t occur, I would’ve been so damn happy right now.” I tried comforting her.

“Can… we still be friends?”

“Of course!” I smiled.

“You owe me one” She said jokingly. “Oh!” She stared at her watch, “I need to go home! Bye!” She turned around and started running before I could say bye to her.

I pressed the answer button

“Hongki? Where are you?” Mum asked.

“a-ah… I was taking a walk, I’m at the park now, why?”

“Jieun and her parents came over for dinner, come back soon.” She said, I hung up and started walking back home.

(Jieun’s POV)

I was at Hongki’s house, waiting for him to come home. He walked in and greeted my parents.

“Anyeong” he waved at me, I gave him a little smile.

“We have brought you guys a new house for after your wedding! Aren’t you excited?!” My dad said excitedly which gave me a shock. I have to live with this guy, for the rest of my life? Is this really happening to me?

“Let’s go see it after dinner!” He said excitedly. We both smiled but I guess we were thinking the same things.

After dinner, my dad drove Hongki and me to our new house. We arrived in front of a two story house, it looked modern and big. We went inside and looked around.

First thing we saw when we walked in was the living room. The main colours were black and white.

Around the corner were the stairs, we wlked up it and there was 4 rooms. "This is yours and Hongki's room"Dad showed us the 1st room from the right. It was so big, if there wasn't furniture, you could probably fit three cars and there will still be space. The room was based on white and the lights were purple-blue colour. When you open the white curtains, you could see the city.

Dad walked us to another room. "this will be your sudy" he said. It was quite spacious for a study, but it looked like a comfortable place to work.

Dad lead us to the next room. "If you guys ever have kids, which I hope you will, we designed one bedroom for a girl and one for a buy, you could always re design it." he said. Hongki and I both looked at each other and started laughing. When I walked into the girls bedroom, all I could say was WOW! I wish I had one of these rooms when I was younger. It was pink and in front of the desk was a wide window with the view of the city.

The last one was the boys bedroom. Of course it was blue, if you look out the window, you could see our garden, which I loved!

We walked back downstairs and saw the kitchen, nice place to cook, I thought.

I stared outide the wide glass window, I loved the garden. I was a grass land with a path and it lead to a mini gazebo with different kinds of flowers around it.

This was my dream house, now it has turned to reality. "We thought about it, we technically ruined your lives, your freedom, so this is all we could do for you, hopefully you end up liking each other and live a happy life." Dad said. "For the very last time, we are very sorry" he apologised and hugged me. "Its ok dad." I said, hoping that he wouldn't feel bad. "You guys can sleep here for today, and get use to the area and come back tomorrow. We smiled and he drove off.

After he left, the mood was like, let's party! We turned on the karaoke and sang for about 45 minutes and we were dead tired. "It would've been more fun if my friends knew." I suddenly said without realizing. "yeah... when are you planning to tell?" he asked. "When you're ready I guess, maybe when we're sending out wedding invitations." I answered.

It felt wierd to marry each other, I guess we both had that thought and started giggling. "thank you" He said out of no-where. "I never had this much fun for such a long time, thank you for giving me such a good time, and very very sorry that we had to ruin your life because of our company." he apologised.

"You guys won't stop apologising would you? Anyways, a promise is a promise, my family goes by that rule, so I can't change it either, it must be hard on you too." I said, meaning that he had to give up on Jiyoung.

(Hongki's POV)

"Did you know... that Jiyoung confessed to me today?" I blurted out, it felt like I could tell her anything. I could tell that she felt bad so I tried to cover it up but she said, "don't feel bad for me, keep going..."

"I felt happy but thinking that you would give up your whole life for a promise was something I could learn from, so I tried to make her feel better but at the same time rejecting her..." I trailed off not knowing why. "welll... we're even now!" She smiled. All I could do was smile back.

"Do you want to know what my first impression on you was?" I asked her. She nodded. "annoying and spoiled" We both laughed. "My first impression on you was arrogant and cruel" She said. "Why? Cause I ignored you?" We both smiled. "I only met you a few weeks ago and now I'm marrying you" I looked at her. She had an innocent face, it was cute and pretty, I couldn't help but feel bad for her.

"I'm showering first!" She said and ran to the bathroom. A smile lit across my face because of her, and it was a true smile for a long time.

(Jieun's POV)

"woah..." I opened my mouth wide when I stepped into the bathroom. even the bathroom seems luxurious.

After I showered, I founf some PJs in the bathroom drawers, I put them on and went out of the bathroom. "your turn!" I yelled. I sat down on the couch next to the bed and started thinking about the day.

He came back out 10 minutes later. We both smiled awkwardly when we thought about how we were going to sleep. "I'll sleep on one side and you sleep on the other." I suggested. "no... I can just sleep on the couch." he said.

"no... you'll make me feel bad for making you sleep on the couch!" I said. "we're going to get married anyways." We both blushed after I said that. It didn't feel this awkward before...

We fell asleep after forgetting all the awkwardness and it was finally the morning.
