Prologue -
The mind is a place only one could wonder in. It's all yours. That is, until you drop all you're defenses, and open the hidden gateway to hell. If you let your inner demons explore, they'll slowly take over the last bit of sanity you hold.
That's what had happened to the girl who's name shall not be spoken of. Instead, she had her last bit of sanity, beaten out of her. She was forced to let her demons explore.
Except her demons were very much real.
Harry Styles.
When you are mad, mad like this, you don't know it. Reality is what you see. When what you see shifts, departing from anyone else's reality, it's still reality to you.
Compared to bipolar's magic, reality seems a raw deal. It's not just the boredom that makes recovery so difficult, it's the slow dawning pain that comes with sanity - the realization of illnesss, the humiliating scenes, the blown money and friendships and confidence. Depression seems almost inevitable. The pendulum swings back from transcendence in shards, a bloody, dangerous mess. Crazy high is better than crazy low. So we gamble, dump the pills, and stick it to the control freaks and doctors. They don't understand, what we say. They just don't get it. They'll never be artists.
But Harry understood very well what the girl was experiencing. Because he himself was going through it as well.
He'd spat hurtful words at her, slowly drain her from the inside out. But he never dared to lay a finger on the girl. He wasn't the violent type, until he was told to be the violent type. No, Harry never beat the poor girl, that wasn't his job.
Yet.
It was his job, but would he live up to it? Or would he make possibly his worst mistake and fall hopelessly in love with the broken girl?
Aubree.
