Nico's POV
Here goes nothing..
I walk out of my room slowly, not wanting to hurry down the stairs. I'm terrified honestly. What will dad say when he sees me? Will he be upset? Happy? I don't know. I guess I'll find out.
When I come into view, I'm looking down. I hear my father gasp. Then I hear..crying? Is he crying? Why would he be? I hardly ever saw my dad cry. He came running up the steps and picked me up off my feet. He carried down the stairs and spun me around once we were at the bottom on the floor.
"I've missed you so much," he says, still crying. I've missed him as well. More than ever before. It's been so long since I've seen any of them. I'm so glad I'm home. Even if it is only for one night.
I find myself starting to cry as well. I knew I would end up doing this. I am pretty emotional honestly.
"I've missed you too," I tell him.
He puts me on the ground, only to find myself being engulfed by two little children at my feet. Autumn is clinging onto my leg, while Tyler is hanging by my waist. They're not crying. They're smiling. The type of smile that you can look at and just feel so calm and happy.
"We've missed you!" they both say at the same time.
"Aww. I've missed you guys as well," I say, hugging them. God I've missed them. Their bright smiles and contagious laughs.
Then we have a family hug. It was so tight, and I never wanted to let go. I felt so warm in that moment. Safe and sound. I never wanted to leave. My family is my everything. I couldn't live without them. And the thought of that just breaks my heart in a million pieces.
"Where have you been?" my father asks.
"Oh just at a hotel. I'm so sorry that I didn't get into contact with you guys. It was just short notice. I texted you guys. And I told you the morning I left. I guess you guys didn't hear me, I'm sorry for that. I mean, you were basically asleep. It's all my fault, and I'm so very sorry."
It wasn't until a few seconds after I said this that I realized it wasn't the same I told my mom. Well slightly. But she must've not noticed because she didn't say anything.
"Hey hey it's okay. We forgive you. Just gave us a real scare. Make sure we know next time, yeah?"
"Yes dad."
"Okay. Now how about we call all of our family and have a celebratory dinner? I bet they'll be glad to know you're home," my mom recommends.
"Sure. I'd love that. I so want to see them all again. It's been so long."
"Indeed it has. I'll call them right now. How about you four go and clean up the kitchen," my mom says.
Dad, Autumn, Tyler, and I all go into the kitchen to clean up. We mess around like we used to, picking fun at different things and each other. Laughing so loud I bet the neighbors could hear. This is what I want. This is what I want for the rest of my life. Where I want to stay. Unfortunately I have to leave straight in the morning, but I'm not going to think about that right now. I'm just going to live in the now, this moment to be exact. And the rest of this night. Who knows how long it's going to be before I get a night like this again.
Hey!! Omg its been FOREVER since I've updated this story. I am so very sorry for that. It's just..I've been lazy. Not gonna lie to you guys, I have. I'm a very lazy person. But here you all go!
I'll try to update more often. Sorry that this chapter is short :)
