(Lissy's POV)
Coldness and darkness. That's what you always feel and see here. We hardly see any daylight.
Who's 'we', you ask? Why, it's just little old me. Just kidding. I'm not old. I'm only 14. But by 'we' I mean me, my friend Halle, and her brother Noah.
I didn't meet Halle and Noah until I came here, though.
We never wanted to be here. It wasn't our choice. It was his. I don't even know his name, nor do I want to. He just told us to call him 'Sir'. If we call him anything else we get punished. Physically and mentally. I mean, we can call him names. Just not to his face.
I know I have a sister. At least, that's what Sir told me. He says that my sister never cared for me, or even tried to help me. I don't believe that, though. She's looking for me. I know she is.
We only get fed when Sir wants us to eat. The food is almost always disgusting. I'm not complaining, though. At least we get food.
"Lissy!," Halle calls.
I get up and walk over to her.
"It's almost time for bed," Noah says. "Let us pray before our night's slumber."
We all know our heads and hold each other's hands. I say the prayer we say every night.
"Our holy father, we thank you for letting us live another day. You are our friend, for you keep us safe and alive again and again. We hope you answer our number one prayer- pleas let us go home soon. With the power vested in me, Amen."
"Amen," Halle and Noah say together, finishing up the prayer.
"Alright rats," Sir comes into the room and says, "time for bed. Now!"
We hurry and scurry to our cots. Yeah, I said cots. Not beds. Sir thinks we're to bad to have comfortable beds like him.
"If you three aren't asleep in 15 minutes, no supper tomorrow night," Sir says.
When he leaves I start to doze off. Into my own little fantasy.
A/n- Idk if the song goes with this chapter at all. I just really like this song. I had another one in mind but it would make a lot more sense in a later chapter. Also sorry if this is sort of short
