Never the Same

Chapter nine

Aspen's POV

Blair and Alison come over to my house after school on the next Friday. Basically all the boys expect Ryder have sat with us at lunch. On Monday they did the cutest thing during lunch, they all got on a table and quieted everyone down.

"Will the beautiful Alison Taylor come up here," Jaydon says on his table and holds his hand out to help Alison up.

"Jaydon what are y'all doing," Alison whispers to him.

"Alison, will you go with me to homecoming?" Jaydon gets down on one knee and holds out a rose.

"Oh Jaydon of course!" She takes the rose and hugs him tightly, pecking his lips. The whole cafeteria cheers and they hop off the table.

"Well I guess that you know whats gonna happen. Blair Evens come here baby girl," Camden says and she steps up and he grabs her waist. "Just go to this stupid dance with me already."

"Of course boo bear," Blair says and kisses him. The crowd goes wild as they hop off. I look around and see that Ryder and Carmen by the door.

I gulp as Trenton says, "Aspen come up here." Instant on the seat then on the actual table part. "Do you wanna go to this dance together or nah?" He clicks his tongue in between or and together.

"Of course man," I say and peck his cheek. The crowd cheers but the only thing I hear is the door slamming and Ryder walking out with Carmen on his heels. What's that all about?

Blair curls her long brown hair and tucks it back tightly, she applies the smokey eye effect and a bunch of makeup, the top half of her dress had diamonds all over and the lower half is a light purple, her shoes are silver heels, and her dangling earrings set the tone.

Alison curls her hair and has it half up half down. Her bright red dress brightens her smile and goes perfect with her tan skin tone, it has big diamonds right below her chest like a belt. Her black heels give her the extra hight she needs. Her smokey eye and bright blush compliment each other.

I curl my hair and braid my bangs. My white dress makes me look tan, the top half has a ombré effect of dark blue to light blue to silver, it reaches mid thigh and makes my smile brighter. I apply a smokey eye just like Blair and Alison, I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks. I throw on some white heels and add blue dangling earrings.

"I can't believe the boys asked us out like that," Alison squeals.

"So is he the one," I ask and raise an eyebrow at her.

"Yes! I felt it, and I assumed Jaydon would like Blair because she's gorgeous and outgoing."

"Oh no, I feel like Camden's the one too when he kissed me I felt like lightening struck through my whole body," Blair says and smiles.

"So what's going on with you and Trenton?"

"Nothing, I'm still dating Connor. End of story. But the weirdest thing happened when the boys asked us out. I see Carmen and Ryder by the door ya know? And then Trenton calls me up and I say yes and kiss his cheek. Then the door slams and Ryder is gone with Carmen running after him," I say and shrug.

"He likes you. It's obvious, Carmen's just the girl to get you jealous," Blair points out as she applies her mascara.

"He totally does. I've felt it since day one," Alison points out as the doorbell rings.

"We'll talk about this later," I say and yell down for my mom to get the door.

"Okay so I'll walk down first, then Alison then Aspen. Okay? Wait till each one of us reaches mid way down the stairs to go," Blair orders.

"Yes miss Blair," Alison mumbles and winks at her.

"Okay show time." Blair holds onto the railing and starts walking down, I look at Camden with his mouth hanging open but he quickly shuts it when she smiles at him.

Then Alison goes down the rail and Jaydon is in complete shock, his face was to die for! But he wipes that face off when Alison giggles a little at him.

It's my turn, I slowly go down the stairs making eye contact with Trenton the whole time, he wasn't in shock like the other boys, he just had his little smirk on his face.

"I need to take pictures," my mom says and runs off to find her camera.

"MOOOOOM," I whine but she returns shortly to take those pictures.

"Send those to me," I say to her as I walk out the door.

-announcing of homecoming court-

"For your freshman prince and Princess, Jack Roberts and Alyssa Olsen," the announcer says while everyone cheers.

"For your sophomore prince and Princess, Cameron Dallas and Mary Kate Robinson." Everyone cheers again.

"For your junior prince and Princess, Ryder Johnson and Aspen Smith." The room cheers again but I'm frozen, Ryder? I'm gonna have to dance with Ryder? Great. I force my feet to move up to the stage and put the sash and crown on. I fake a smile as they announce the seniors who I don't even care about. I look out in the crowd and see a fuming Carmen, her orange dress had a diamond belt and was way too short for her.

"Now will each couple make their way to the dance floor," the announcer says. Ryder takes my hand and guides me down the stairs and we start dancing.

"Carmen's mad," I say while we dance.

"She's just mad that she can't look half as beautiful as you do tonight," Ryder says softly.

"Thank you Ryder, you don't look half bad yourself." I smile at him. He really does look nice tonight.

"Aspen?"

"Yes Ryder?" The second the words leave my mouth, his lips crash against mine. Our lips move in sync, I wrap my arms tighter around his neck and tug lightly at his hair. I move my tongue to the bottom of his lips and he allows entrance, our tongue mingle for a couple seconds before I pull away. The crowd was cheering but I didn't care, I got that feeling Blair was talking about and I wanted to feel that more.

"I think you're gonna win the bet soon," Ryder whispers in my ear sending shivers up my spine.
