So we sat there in silence, I could hear my heart hammering against my chest, that's basically my workout of the year. Sprinting a half mile, hey I didn't wear heels, I'm pretty glad. 1:0 Aspen. I decide to break the silence, bad mistake, "Hey I'm sorry, I know you hate me and all but my legs are gonna be toned from running."
He turns his head towards me and we lock eyes, his emerald eyes showed nothing except mad, he says, "It's your fault. I shouldn't be busting my ass to play super hero for a girl who doesn't want me. For a girl who should know how to defend herself. For a girl that lives in a fairy tale that I'll end up being the bad boy that's only good for her. Life isn't a fucking fairy tale Aspen. I'm out here busting my ass to make sure you're unharmed and happy, the Aspen that I love and want to be with forever." He wants to spend his forever with little me? My insides do a backflip and I catch my breath. I literally stopped breathing, not even Connor has told me that. This guy that's known me for like a month wants to spend the rest of his life with me.
"You don't always save me." My voice is barely a whisper.
"I can name three right now." He holds up three fingers and smirks at me.
"Do it." Our faces were inches away from each other and I got lost in his beautiful eyes.
"When Connor slapped you, when your parents got separated, and tonight." A smile was perfectly plastered on his sweet lips. My eyes travel down to his lips and back up to his eyes. Big mistake.
I lean in and our lips crash together. Volts of electricity ran through my entire body. The sensation was so good that I felt my knees go weak. He started moving his lips on mine slowly as if he was savoring me. I eagerly kissed him back with all I had. Below us, my feet felt like they were turning into liquid in my shoes. Ryder gripped my face tightly as he deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue inside my mouth. He tasted so good, and it felt so right to kiss him. His long fingers trailed through my hair and the kissed turned passionate one in a matter of seconds. It seemed like we couldn't get away from each other. Ryder's hands left my face, trailed down my arms until finally they reached my waist, pulling me closer to him. Our bodies pressed together, so that I could feel the warmth radiating from his skin beneath his clothes. The sweet smell of his cologne caught my nose, and I lost myself in his scent. Our breaths were becoming heavy as the kiss became more intense. Ryder bit my lower lip softly, stealing a soft sigh from me. He definitely knew what he was doing.
Before I knew it, he pulled away, his lips were all red and I assume mine were to. "Aspen, I'm no good for you. We can't do this, we both know it. You're way too good for me my love," his voice was soft and understanding.
"Don't you dare do this! You always do this! Everyone always does this to me and it's not fair," I scream at him, I didn't notice I was crying until my lip was quivering.
"Don't cry. Don't cry baby doll. Everything's fine. You're fine. We're fine. I love you." He pulls me into his chest and I just sob. "Let's start walking baby doll. Eventually we'll get home." I nod and try to smile, failed attempt.
"Give me a piggy back ride." I demand and smile at him. On the way back I tell him that I hate flowers because they remind me of my grandpas funeral, and that my tea can't be too hot because of the time my mom made milk to hot and severely burned my tongue. He tells me about his dad, who left them for one of his collage students. He drops me off at my house and kiss my cheek. I go into my room and take a shower.
