Chapter five: Jealousy

Garfield walked sleepily walked into the kitchen. When he look up he saw Damian and Raven both silently sitting in the couch watching television. He frowned he when he saw them holding hands. 'I don't understand. What does he have that I don't?' Garfield thought to himself. He walked over to the oven to make some tofu eggs and bacon.

When he was done eating his breakfast, which he figured there was no purpose of asking the others if they wanted some because no one else but him liked tofu, he walked over to the couch. "Morning Raven" Beast Boy said. She let go of Robins hand and nodded her head in reply. Damian frowned a little. "Hey Damian" he said slightly glaring at him.

"Hey" he simply replied. Damian really didn't feel like having to deal with Garfield right now. Damian had nothing against Garfield, but whenever he saw him with Raven he would notice Garfield glaring at him. Like he was....jealous? 'No... of course not...he and Raven were just best friends...it's not like he's jealous of me and Raven....right?' Damian thought.

'That boy blunder thinks he can just come and steal raven away from me? He'll have kill me before I let that happen!' Garfield thought angrily. They all sat there quietly and awkwardly staring at the t.v. screen. Raven had to admit that she was a little uncomfortable. She felt the tension in the air growing thicker by the second. She was feeling a wave of mixed emotions coming off of someone. Mostly anger and sadness. She just didn't know exactly 'who' it was coming from.

Thankfully Kori and Jaime had walked in a few minutes later. "Morning team" Kori said in her usually cheery voice. "Morning" they all replied. "Right now it is 8:30. I will make all of us breakfast and then we can all meet up in the training room at 10." Kori said. Everyone nodded in response. Surprisingly, Kori had managed to cook a good breakfast. She had been getting better at cooking Earthly foods. Kori made everyone pancakes with bacon and eggs.

Everyone sat down at the table to eat their breakfast. Raven sat in the middle of Beast Boy and Damian. Beast Boy was on her right and Damian was on her left. Jaime and Kori both sat on the end. Raven wasn't really hungry so instead of eating she just picked at her food with her fork. She stared off into space, being in a slight daze. Damian noticed that she wasn't eating her food. "What's wrong?" he asked. "Huh? Oh, nothing." She said, being slightly caught off guard. " Why?"

"Well...you are not eating you're food. Are you alright?" he asked.

"Yeah..I guess. I just have a slight head ache. I'm not really hungry right now. Ill be in my room if you guys need me." she said while getting up from the table to put her dishes in the sink.

He watched her as she walked out of the common room and into the hallway. When she got in her room she sighed heavily. She walked into her bathroom and opened up a cabinet with pills in them. She took a few pain pills out of the bottle and got a cup of water and took the pills. Then she put the bottle back in the cabinet and walked back into her room. She lied down on her and took a short nap.
10 am

Damian walked towards Ravens room to tell her it was time start training. He was slightly worried about Raven. She had been acting a bit differently lately. He couldn't stand to see Raven suffering.

He gently knocked on Raven's door. "Who is it?" he heard a muffled voice ask. "It's me, Damian." Raven got up slowly and yawned. She had just woken up from her nap. Her head felt a little better at least. A 'little'. She opened the door and saw Damian standing there. "Time for training" he said. She nodded and they walked down the hall to the training room.

"So how's you're head feeling?" he asked. "It feels a bit better than it did earlier." she replied. When they reached the training room they saw the others patiently waiting for them to arrive. "Alright so today Titans, I've been thinking about working in pairs of two. I want to see how well you all do in hand to hand combat. Damian, you'll be partnering with Raven first.

They both walked towards the center of the room. Raven and Damian both got in a fighting stance. "Ready....go!" Kori shouted. Damian sent a few kicks towards Raven but she blocked them easily. Raven sent a punch towards Damian with he also blocked. Raven started to get a bit distracted. She heard her father's voice echoing in her head.

'I will get out of this gem Raven...and when I do..I will destroy you and all of you're friends...starting with the Al ghul.' he laughed evily. 'No! You will not go anywhere near him' she retorted. ' And who's going to stop me? You? You can't stop me Raven. You are pathetic. You've become weak. You've allowed yourself to fall for some pathetic human!'

'I am not weak. And I have not fallen for anyone...so just shut up and leave me alone father.'
Her father started laughing again. His voice was still ringing in her ears. She and Damian were still fighting and trying to see who could pin the other one down. "You're pretty good" he complimented her. "You're not so bad yourself. Damian did a back flip as raven swooped down to trip him.

In the end Damian ended up defeating Raven. She was still a bit distracted by her dad. "Not bad" he told her. "Thanks" she said with a small grin.
"Good job" Kori congratulated them. "Muy bien" Jaime complimented them. Garfield had a upset expression on his face. "Yeah.....good job" he said. He was still jealous and was angry at Damian.

"Alright so you and I can next Jaime" Kori said. "Alright. Let's do this!" Jaime said getting excited.
